Hi, I'm new to this whole "backing up" thing, and I'm trying to make a copy of Rygar. I use DVDDecrypter, copy the iso to the HD, then write the iso to the DVD-R, and it doesn't work (fliptop/swap magic 3.6)... what am I doing wrong? Also, I burned it at 2x.

Yesterday I burned Ultimate Spiderman using the same method, only I burned it at 4x, and it has a bit of slowdown, but seems to work properly.

Now I'm gonna be borrowing copies of a few of my friends games tomorrow (FFX, Jak and Daxter, coouple others) to burn, but if I'm gonna wind up wasting multiple discs, is it even worth it?

what brand and speed DVD's did you use.

It could just be the media you use.

I used Fujifilm (4.7gb) DVD-R, and it goes up to 8x.

Also, I have another question. I know you're supposed to make a new 1 byte text file if theres a DUMMY file from the burn, but when I try to copy over the text file I made (since I cant create one in the file) it says "WinRAR can add files only to RAR or ZIP archives".

Ya, I'm a huge newb when it comes to this stuff, so any help is appreciated.

Well some members swear by Fuji Film DVD-R's, just the ones made in Japan. First I'd try burning at 1x, then go up to 4x. If that doesn't work try try different DVD-R's. Sony, Phillips, Maxell, TDK, Verbatim, or Taiyo Yuden all should work. You shouldn't need to mess with the dummy file. Rygar is a pretty small game, it shouldn't need rebuilt. Try just burning with DVD Decrypter at different speeds.

Ignore that thread. Burn at 1x, 2x, or 4x. until it works. Use verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Ritek, TDK, Sony, Phillips, or Maxell DVD-R's.
