Im not really new to dvd burning anymore but all of a sudden i have noticed that alomost half the discs i do will freeze while burning and thats it nothing wlse will happen. It doesnt always happen at the same time either sometimes its 1% sometimes its like 60%. Is this a problem with the discs or my burner, anyone know before I waste money on trying out some new discs?

I would say its your computer not the disc.

When was the last time you took the side of your case off and blew out the inside of your computer getting rid of the dust and debris that have accumulated in there?

What programs are you utilizing?
What brand and type of media are you using?
Is this a different brand than you've used before?
At what speed are you burning?
Internal or external burner?
How much computer memory?
Computer system specs?

You might try doing a clean reinstall of Nero. Uninstall Nero and then run the Nero Clean Tool available at the Nero website. Restart and then do a fresh install of Nero taking care to not install the poc program InCD. Also make sure you update to the newest version available. Updates are at the Nero site as well. This doesn't take long to do. I'm assuming you have the full version of Nero.

It would also be helpful if you posted the Nero log when the burn froze. Be sure to delete your Nero serial number before you do.

Have you tried to burn an iso file with DVD Decrypter to see if you get the same result?

Have you checked for firmware updates for your drive?

I second the above.

@nikkim

In addtion to the above, please defrag (defragment) your c: drive/hard drive regularly. At least 2 or 3 times a week won't hurt you know.
