I personally use SmartXX in my BoXs. You can't beat the LPC rebuild board, and the LT OPX now has been upgraded to what the v.2 can do running Linux/ HDD tools/ ED@Chip (FTP) for free. The tutorials are awesome, and the forum is helpful. Oh yeah, and the v.3 chip is being talked about from the SmartXX team. Always on the up and up. Check them out.

from what I've been reading, the spider chips have had alot of problems. The Xecuters (2 or 3) are still very stable chips and yeah the smartx's are some fine chips as well.

The best modchip on the market is The Xecuter 3, hands down. It is even considered a 4th gen chip by devs because of the extensive features and the ability to edit the bios on the fly (X3 config live).
I wouldn't think about getting any other chip unless price is a factor.
If you're not looking to spend 40 bucks, go for Doux2. It is the best on the cheapmod side, 2 banks, easy installation on 12 pinheader with only 2 wires to solder.
Hope this helps

i dont think there is that much differeence between modchip as long as it works thats the main thing.there may be a difference in fitting it.depending on your price range go with what you can afford best.my xecuter 2 is still working fine but ive only had it for 18months.
