How do i add subtitles?

I found this website where i can download subtitles for any movies and they come in .srt format, i have a few movies that i have downloaded off the internet and they were divx until i converted them to dvd with divxtodvd, but i wanted to add those subtitles i found to that movie. I was reading other posts where they talk about subrip, but in reality, i dont need to do that..or DO I ? because since i already have the subtitles, i dont need to ripp them from any movie, besides that i dont think that these movies that you get off the net as divx they have subtitles anywhere unless im wrong. but thats why im here asking for your help, because someone out there has to know how to do this.
P.S. i also want after i add the subtitles to burn that movie to a dvd+r, so here is what i need to know so far:
1. how to add subtitles to divx movies that have been converted to dvd?
2. how to burn that movie with the subtitles?

what is the website youre talking about? i am having sort of the same problem. i am able to burn my movies with subtitles but the program i use only accepts srt and txt format. mind telling me the website? thank you

You can add subtitles to DivX as you encode with e.g. DVDSanta, VSO (commercial version).
