I just checked ps2hd.com and they said that it was incompatible with the patched hdloader. I guess i have to use cogswap loader or just wait for the patch.

Yeah it is bull, it looks like a really good game too..... Indigo Prophecy is the same way...I'm begining to wonder if sony is starting to make their newer games HD incompatible to discourage HD Loader use... I guess I'll just have to use my failing PS2 lazer to play these 2 games.......

Hey Luck did you ever finish Star Ocean 3? I'm downloading it now to play on my modded PS2, which should be getting back soon. How was it?

No I haven't finished star ocean yet... but I did make it to disc 2...and boy am I glad it let me save before switching discs :) I've been busy with Radiata Stories and the Suffering :Ties that bind ( both HDD compatible, might I add)
This may be off topic but I ordered a DUO 2 SE chip from console source. I think it supports multi disc PSX games, so today I'm off to the Pawn shop to buy a v1-v7 console. Then I can be a bad ass and have 2 PS2s. Sony may be making games non-HDD compatible on purpose , but I'm not sure.....

Yeah the Duo2SE is a nice chip. It supports multi-disk games: http://teammodders.com/ps2_mc.php?ex=2#30 If I could solder myself, I would consider picking one up. I went all out and sprung for the DMS 4 Pro. The Duo2SE stacks up favorably, at about half the price. BTW it supports v.1-10, not v.1-7.

well when I filled out the order form they asked me if I wanted a chip for v1-v7 or v9-v11 .... I saw alot of v7s at the pawn shop
http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/customer/product.php?productid...
could this be a cheap clone??? I don't know alot about DUO but the diagram seemed easy enough. I soldered a DMS4 Pro for a friend of mine, and she had a v9. the tediuos part about the v7 and under is that they have that damn daughterboard. I bet soldering on the slimline is a snap

I don't know a ton about the Duo2SE myself, but I don't think that's a clone. I'm not aware of there being clones for that particular modchip. A common clone would be the "modbo" a POS Matrix Infinity clone. As far as value, that's one of the best modchips for the PS2. If you don't need all the bells and whistles of a more expensive chip, that's an excellent buy. It's cool that you can solder it yourself, saves you a lot of money. Lemme know how you like it.
