Hello All. I am pulling my hair out trying to do this (and spending a small fortune on software). I am trying to rip store bought DVDs to an IPOD. I have bought ImTOO DVD ripper, Xilisoft Video Converter, No.1 DVD Ripper, Some f-ing PSP video converter and nothing. I have come close by using the No.1 DVD ripper program and then using Xilisoft to rip it into a .mov file. The video looks KICK ASS but there is no audio, has to be something with the converting process because I can play the ripped .avi file that the No.1 DVD ripper produced audio and all. When using the Xilisoft software there are several (TOOLS) that you can choose from at the right hand portion of the screen. I have read some How Toos and this is what they the settings should be.
First-Change the video output to 320x240---DONE
(thats the only video setting it said to mess with)
Second--The audio codec is set to AAC THE ONLY OPTION HERE!!!!( which by reading about the apple format..thats correct), also I selected 192 kbps and 44100 sampling, as well as 2 channel audio.
After the file has been ripped to the .mov extension, like I stated before Video great,.....NO Audio...
Thank you in advance for your help with this....
Take care..

Okay, I just received my Ipod Video, and was able to import one of my DVDs. You only need one/two software program(s) to do the work... Nero Recode (plus AnyDVD or DVD Shrink/Decrypter if you want that extra step). There is only one coder that works, PSP, so make sure you chose that one because if you don't, you won't be able to import it into your Ipod (audio issues). So far, so good, the quality is very good, on h.264 file - 500mb per movie.

Using those slow conversion software can obviously waste hours of your precious time.
You only need one software. And it is 300% faster than other solutions. The software is called PQ DVD to iPod Video Converter.
http://www.pqdvd.com/dvd-to-ipod-video-converter.html
Just one click to convert DVDs, Tivo and any other video format directly to iPod. The 300% faster conversion speed is very impressive. You no longer need a super fast new computer to get the job done.
Download it here:
http://www.pqdvd.com/download/
Works great for iPod.

@bbelack
No asking for serials. This isn't a piracy forum. You can find a link to the rules in my signature.
