Burned DVD games does not work.

i read through most of the pertinent threads in the forum and thought i got a good feel for burning ps2 games.

guess i was wrong.

got an iso from the net. burned it with dvd decrypter. i use a LG GSA 4163B. i had set the booktype to dvd-rom. but that was pointless since the booktype was for dvd+r.

for the first burn, i used a dvd-rw at 2x and the console gave me a "disc read error"

for the second burn, i used a maxell dvd-r (as recommended by some of the members here) and burned at 1x. (another question. in dvd decrypter it says the supported burn speed is 2.4x,4x. so what happens when i burn at 1x which is an unsupported speed?)

the disc boots fine. however, from there it takes forever to load and gets stuck at the games's splash screen.

i use a ps2 scph39001, with a messiah2 chip.

I can answer your burn speed question. (some may disagree, but) Burning at 1x means fewer errors and is therefore advisable if you experience problems at higher speeds. Burn it slow just to be sure.

you should burn at the supported speeds that is given to you by the software you are using.and clean your ps2 lens just in case.
