Best Buy has Fuji disks on sale for 9.99 a 25 pack. Otherwise all I am seeing is Memocrap disks on sale every place else.

I just got through scouring the virtual sales ads. Those fujis at bestbuy looked like 2.4x speed.
Office max has 3 pack of memorex dual layers for $9.99
Not sure if they are riteks or phillips?Maybe even cmag dual layer?
It's a crappy week for media sales.Even office depot had their brand name 8x for 30 cents each! They were 25 cents 3 or 4 weeks ago,but very good ritek media. Those OD media about the only decent sale out there.
Lots of memosux everywhere.Even lots of HP crapmags!UGGH!
Maybe next week will be better?

saugmon, Pay no attention to the online Best Buy Ad that looks like they are 2.4x. Nope, they are ALL 8x. Old & not updated picture of those on their site. They have Fuji DVD+R MIJs for $9.99 for 25 disc spindles.
Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

I'll hold off on those fuji tys until staples gets them back to $8.94 for spindles of 30!They may be even cheaper for next sale?
30 cents max is my limit for non printable plus format media not counting the governor's share.I hope to keep sticking with it, LOL

I couldn't locate the thread that this was origonally posted to, but I said that I would update you on my purchase of TY's from shop4tech.com.
I got them today and hurray the are the real think. Code is Yuden 000-T02-000.
Whew. Glad I did not get burned. $44.00 to the door for 100 discs.
I think this is a good deal.

9mmruger1: look at the bottom/dye side-towards the inner silver ring for a coding similar to: TG001159
That should rule out if they are real or fake.

Yes, my 1640 loves the colored Yuden Fuji discs also .. you can even burn 'em at 16x with excellent scans!

guess perhaps shop4tech has changed their "evil" ways~ :) i was just ONE among many others scammed a few years ago with the dreaded "fake taiyo yudens", so that is why that company still leaves a bad taste in my mouth and why i don't order from them~ :)
but, im glad you got the "real thing"...
gotta agree that i love me some colored fuji's too~ i guess i'm 2nd after catfreak in getting that Benq 1640 after his recommendation~ :) already lovin it~

ok a stupid question but how come some of the fuji media at bestbuy is taiwan and some is japan? why not just get japan media? it just seems strange to me why they would get anything else than japan media.

I'm not sure why Fuji does it like they do. I was at Best Buy on Monday and got 4 of the +R 25 packs for $9.99. They were MIJ and I went through every one they had on the shelf and got the last 4 packs of MIJ. There were a lot of MIT +R's mixed in, but I wanted the MIJ ones. I also went through all of the -R's on the shelf and they were all MIT. I seem to recall being told at one point that all Fuji -R's were MIT and all +R's were MIJ. That obviously isn't true because of the +R mixture on the shelf.

.. and all of the Fuji -R media at Best Buy is NOT MIT. I just picked up 2-25 packs that were MIJ and coded out as TYG02. Out of the 10 -R spindles they had 6 were MIJ.

I was curious about that. Just didn't seem to make much sense Fuji would do it that way. Guess it was just the luck of the draw at Best Buy. None of the -R at my local store was MIJ. Thanks for the input.

I have a friend that works at BB .. He says that one case will be MIJ and the next might be MIT .. the shelves get stocked up before they're empty which is why you'll usually see a mixture. If you can't find MIJ in the media section, try looking up front by the cashiers or customer service .. usually there's media up there also and it doesn't sell as quickly
