I'm a new user. First I'd like to say the user guides are GREAT! I've burned about 4 or 5 dvd so far no problem, but i'm currently having a problem with one. It analyzes then about 8% of the way through encoding I stop seeing previews and it says either "programming error - exception occurred" with nothing else, "programming error - exception occurred Not enough storage space to process this command" or "incorrect parameter" I haven't changed the type of discs i'm using (which doesn't matter anyway, because I can't even get to the burn process) i followed the same steps as before using the guide on this site. Please Help!

What movie are you trying to backup, are you only using Shrink? Shrink cannot handle some of the encryption on newer movies.

Yes I'm only using shrink. I'm trying to back up the wedding date. I just did Batman Begins w/o a problem, and that one's newer.

I have DVD Decrypter. I thought the guide said the dvd had to be less than a certain number of bytes to use DVD Decrypter and if it was over i had to shrink it first.

You can use DVD Decrypter in the same way you used Fab...go to Mode/File and a video ts folder will be created to use with DVD Shrink.

Loe, I didn't use decrypter, cuz the userguide here says it needs to be less than 4,718,000,000 bytes (or something like that) and if it was over that to use shrink

You use DVD Decrypter to rip all your disks, if you have a disk that is under 4.3g you can then just do a straight iso read and then write mode. In essence if your movie is bigger than a DVD5 can handle then you use Shrink to compress if it is less you do not need to use Shrink, you just do the straight read and write.
