usb ethernet adapter for transfering files

i'm not sure if i can but i just bought a usb ethernet adapter and i was wondering if i could use it to transfer files to my xbox with it.

The adapter has a usb cable but i have an adapter for ethernet to plug into my xbox. then i plug the other end of the cable (usb not ethernet) but it says it's an unknown device. HELP
