Not sure this is in the proper forum,so please correct me..

I am downloading a movie and want to view it with the Limewire media player, I click on the preview and it goes to my Windows Media Player (which it shouldn't)but then I get the message one or more codecs can not be found. In Limewire options I have the check mark under the player section, to use Limewire player. Any help please?//...Ed

that error means that the codec required to play the file in the view mode is not present on your pc.You will need to update your pc codecs. You could download avicodec, run the portion of the file you have through it and it will tell you what codec you are missing and then its rather simple for you to download them

Not sure if you can run a portion of the file while downloading as the file is not able to open anywhere until complete??? Would like to get it or be able to just click on the limewire media player that will show the file while playing or paused, as it goes to my windows media player automatically...thank for the reply..ed

I located a (FREE)great video player that is open source. I have used it a number of times and really like it. You can download it from: http://www.videolan.org/

I know this does not help with your question, but it is an alternative to media player.

goto www.divx.com and download the newest divx

also go to www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html and download nimo's codec pack, install both and the movie should run fine.
