Hello everyone,

My PS2 started acting strangely. It reads DVD games but after about 10 or 15 minutes of gameplay the game freezes and I have to reboot then it wont load dvd copied games. PSX or CD games boot flawlessly. Then I have to disable the chip to read original games. Can anyone tell me is it the modification problem or laser?

What disks are you using to burn onto?

What speed and what program are you burning to/with?

I purchase copied games from market. It was working fine, the problem occured last night.

As my PS2 trouble reading DVD games so I changed its position from horizontal to vertical. So it was reading games and I played Splinter cell 3 for an hour or so then it started again and it now not reading it at all. But when I disable the modchip it reads original games after a few tries but the fmv is not smooth and there is a sec pause in fmvs. Is this the lens problem. Please help.

If its a slim it might be the chip and the lens goin out..the next thing you might start seeing is a black screen on boots..
