fairly new to this game. i only have one dvd rewriter on my pc. can i still use this software and if so HOW?????????? can't find any instructions anywhere but at least i can download movie onto my hard drive!! from little acorns etc etc

Yes you can use it, I only have my burner in my system.

You'll need to copy the movie to your hdd, shrink it and then burn it.

As for how, open DVDFab, selcect source, select target, hit start

Hi pjeffreys, Once you have the movie on your HD its half done. Download DVD Shrink off the download tab at page top. Then go to the guides tab and read up on Shrink. Its just a matter of opening the movie files on your HD with Shrink, then edit them as you like. Once thats done you burn those files with Decrypter or Nero. total file size needs to be around 4300mb to fit a single layer blank dvd. Good luck

thanks jerry746. got DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter. Nero 6, and dvdfab. having problems with copying dvd's. dvdrw can copy to hd but can't burn to clean dvd!!!!!!!!!! beginning to think it may be my dvdrw... thanks to you, arniebear and deline.

Make sure the blank media you are using is the right format for your burner as in the + and - factor. Some burners are only single format either + or -. Others are dual format and will burn both types. Just something I thought I'd mention. I'm not trying to under-estimate your knowledge but sometimes its the simple things we forget about.

Just to add to Jerry746's post, make sure your firmware on your burner is up to date. You can do this through Decrypter, go to Tools Tab, Drive and the Capabilities and check the current there, it looks like this



You can then go to the check for firmware updates in the Drive tab if you need.
