Is Office Depot Brand DVD-R media any good?

I just bought some Office Depot Brand DVD-r's, they were on sale. I've never used them before. Are they any good? I ran one thru DVD Identifier, they're RitekG05.

RitekG05s are GOOD quality media, in MY opinion~ i have used this same media id code, but on Ridata branded Riteks, 500+ with flawless results :)

so, you should be just fine with those, i KNOW saugmon has an affinity for these Office Depot brand media, and gurnard loves Riteks too~ :) i am in the SAME boat as they are when it comes to RitekG05s :) good stuff~

High quality media are authentic Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Maxell (Made In japan) and Ritek. In contrast, any thing from them is good, unless it's not CMC MAG, then you shouldn't have to worry at all.

Kivory666: You forgot to add catfreak. Catfreak turned me on to those ritek office depot brand 8x. I only do the plus format and those are Ritek-R03. On sale this week for 30 cents each. A few weeks ago they were on sale for 25 cents each in a buy 1 50 pack spindle and get 2 free! The last 3 months have been ritek on those OD brand 8x discs.

I'm holding off until that 25 cent sale is on the next time.

OD has a good return policy. Just keep the wrappers and receipts handy in case you run into trouble.Usually most trouble is a firmware update may be needed.

I just get a kick out of trying to find some good deals for the fellow members. Hard to believe someone will pay 35-40 cents apiece for cmags while I can get the riteks for a quarter and fuji tys for 30 cents!

But MID codes are like the weather,very hard to predict! LOL
