Hello, newbie here. I have searched and did read the guides, but didn't find anything on my question. I want to burn tv shows that i've downloaded (and are in avi format) to a dvd to watch on my home dvd player. Do i have to convert them to dvd format (with the vob files, etc)? Can i just burn them to dvd as avi's or mpg's? I used to just burn them as SVCDs, but then i only get 1 show per disc.

I tried one burning 2 avi files as a dvd already using nero6, but that took about 3 hours. that doesn't seem right. then i tried avi2dvd but i was only able to fit 2 shows (originally 350mb each) onto a dvd and that took about 3 hours also. I believe that most of that time was spent converting the files before burning.

Is what i am trying to do possible? thanks for the help in advance.

Brett

What i suggest is Nero Vision Express 3. you will be able to add in a couple shows, or more depening if you want to lower the bitrate tyhey are transcoded at, on to a dvd. as well create a menu to watch them. I just recently burnt two discs of Avatar cartoon episodes, fit 6 episodes on disc and made the disc Long Play instead of Standard Play.

yes NVE3 takes about 2 hours or so depending on the length of the movie you are trying to encode, and the speed you are going to burn it at
