I want to make a copy of my store bought dvd's onto a dvd+r but I don't know how to do it.

Would someone please direct me to a program that would let me do that?

I think it's called ripping. If it puts the movie in .avi format that is okay because I can use my vso divx to dvd program to put it back on disk.

Any suggestions???

you have a dvd that you have bought.The long road is converting an mpeg2 compatible file back to AVI then re encoding it to mpeg2 and then to disc.Why bother.A simpler solution for you is to download shrinkdvd,

1.install the software.
2.Put your store bought dvd into your dvd burner/rom
3.See the image below.


Select full disc backup
4.Follow the prompts
5.And shortly you will have a reproduction of your dvd

you have several options

dvd shrink and or DVD Decrypter (freeware)

better

CloneDVD 2 with AnyDVD (which i use) or Intervideo DVDCopy 4

all will rip and burn dvds in about 25 minutes depending on your machine

heres a guide with software and how to use the programs

remember to use good blank media as in Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim and burn at 4x

I downloaded the DVD Shrink program. It works great.
