I am in the process of switching from paper labels to wanting printable discs and am looking for a good printer. Can someone provide a list of printers for direct to disc?

I have read this thread and see all of the good word about epson. Am I wasting my time to look any further?

Thanks.

Bucky

I put this on the wrong thread. This is a repeat from the How do you label your DVD media thread.

Thanks.

$80-$99 for the epson r-200 stylus.
$140? for the epson r-300
$179+ for the epson r-320.

I've got the r-200 and it's an excellent all around printer including my full hub printables. It even works great after my ex-wife lauched it! You can get this at sams club for $79.Staples have them for $99.
Ink cartridges run about $18 a set at private.abacus24-7.com and is quality ink.You get a better discount with multiple sets of cartridges.

The r-300 and r-320 have the same specs, just more bells and whistles like card reader and view screen.

Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered the R200 from Staples. After free shipping and rebate, I got it for $75.

I will check the site for ink. You are sure about the quality for such an inexpensive price?

Thanks.

It's very good ink. It performs as well as the original ink that came with the r-200 stylus photo printer.

Very good customer service also. I ordered the wrong ink the first time.Epson has 2 models named the 200. I accidentally ordered the stylus color 200 instead of the R-200 stylus photo. Mine has 6 ink cartridges, that other stylus color only has 3, UGGH!. I sent them back and they sent me the exchange well before they received my returns. They may have even been out a few extra dollars! I did order them in bulk of 3 sets and only on my second set of Ink.

The only photos I do is my disc- album covers and they do look sweet! Excellent photos, great disc covers, and a very good printer.

Here's the link to the exact ink you need:

Thanks I checked by cartridge #'s and your information appears to be correct ! If you do a lot of printing you might ant to look up EZINKJETS.COM they sell Generic/Compatible cartridges for most Epson printers as well as a CIS system ( Continuous Ink System for the R200/300/320 series of epson printes ! as well as for several other models of epson printers as well Prices start about $89.00 or so depending on printer model ! I have done bussiness with them EZINKJETS.COM and always got my orders promptly and the exact products I ordered ! II used their cartridges for the epson stylus cx-5200 and found them excellent ! Don't know if the CIS ink ssytem will work with the R220 printer but being that the 220/200/300/320 are all basically the same printer with minor differences it should work! But I will check with EZINKJETS.COM before I would buy the system to make sure ! Thanx again Peace & happy Burning Ciao!!!

I just got back from staple's and those ink cartridges are the same in the r200/r220/r300/r320.They wanted $13 + for each cartridge,LOL
They had the 220 and 320 set up. I just picked my dad up an r-200 there a week or two while it was on clearance for $50 after rebate. Now I see why!

I haven't gotten into the specs to see the difference between the r-200 and r-220.They look very similar.Slight color variation.

I don't do that many to be able to pay for the bulk system. With my dad and me using the same printer,we can get a better discount at private.abacus.

Later buddy!

saugmon- I understand that ! I think the R200/R220 thing maybe just that a cosmetic variation or maybe a minor differenc in features ! Just bought an Epson Stylus C-7800 so I was thinking of using the R220 as a secondary printer & because it has generic/aftermarket cartridges available for it as well as the CIS system! but having since found generic cartridges for the 7800 @ ink2all.com that need is not as urgent ! Just could'nt see spending about $50.00 everytime I had to re -up on cartridges! when the generics print justas well at amuch better price! And until recently that was all the options I had Epson genuine or drill & fill ! & I'm not a big drill and fill guy! But I thank you& everyone for your help & information ! Happy Turkey Day YO!

$17 for all 6 cartridges plus $2 or $3 shipping at private.abacus vs $50-$60 a set at walmart or staples.

Very good customer service.

My first order I got the r200 stylus photo inkjet mixed up with the 200 photo printer.I ordered the wrong ones, UGGH!!!.I re-ordered,this time the right ones.I sent the wrong ones back and I think I still came out ahead.
The epson 200 photo only took 3 large cartridges,LOL.It is a little confusing model# for the 200.

If anyone is still looking for a nice direct to dvd printer, I took my fellow members' advice and purchased the Epson R200 yesterday. Tried it on a maxell DVD-R white inkjet hub printable and was amazed at the results!! I know this is their base model, but it works great for me. Fry's electronics is selling refurbished ones for 69.99 AND you get 20.00 back through a rebate. Printer for 50 bucks...not a bad deal!!!
