First of all I am new to this forum so hello to all. Now I am having some problems and confusion and I'm not too sure where to post it so hopefully I can find some help here. I will list my problems below and hope for some information to follow.

Ok, if I've got a movie that is for intance cd 1 and cd 2, how do I apply them to a single dvd so that they appear as one full movie? What programs are there that I can use to cut and add parts to a movie? And last but not least, what programs can take a mpg, mpeg, divx, avi, ect. and convert them to dvd format?

I would really appreciate any suggestions... and thanks for your time in advance!

First we need to know what format that video is.
AVI, MPEG or what?
Some standalone DVD-players will play MPEG files (burn as data-mode)
If not you have to make DVD-videfiles and burn it with Nero

TMPGenc merge - Two MPEG file to one

TMPGenc - AVI to MPEG
VSODivXtoDVD 2 - AVI to DVD with subtitles
TMPGEnc DVD Source Creator
FilmMachine - AVI to DVD
DVDSanta - AVI to DVD
DVDLab PRO - MPEG to DVD
DVD MovieFactory - MPEG to DVD

Some guides here:

I believe they were AVI, but I just got Winavi so I'm gonna convert everything over to dvd anyways. Now my main concern is that when I get em' switched over, how do I take part 1 and part 2 and make them 1 solid movie? So that it won't stop between the parts and will play right through? Oh, thanks for the guides, they were really helpful!

1. Load First File
2. Append Load Second, Third, Fourth, ... Files
3. Change The Video Encoding Option To Source Copy (Direct Copy, Something Like That)
4. Default Audio Settings Are Fine
5. Save As...

Ok so what if I wanted a easy program to work with and didn't mind paying for it? Also, is this as simple as adding both part 1 and 2 and getting a total flick without a lot of work? I'm just a newb and nervous, haha!

* Support join AVI, DivX, MPEG-4 files.
* Support join MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video files.
* Support join RM, RMVB files.
* Support join ASF, WMV, WMA files
* Join video files as many as you want.
* Scramble and rearrange the video clips in the sequence that you exactly desire.

Virtualdub
* VirtualDub is mainly geared toward processing AVI files, although it can read (not write) MPEG-1 and also handle sets of BMP images.
