You need to use a different encryption breaker like AnyDVD. You can get a 21 day free trial at http://www.slysoft.com

This will solve your issues. You may even want to try DVDdecryptor befor shrink.

I have AnyDVD and love it. Well worth the money.

You can also try the free DVD Fab Decrypter available from http://www.filepedia.com look under rippers. You just rip to your hard drive and then open the file with Shrink and proceed as usual.

I wouldn't consider myself an expert by any means, but I've been backing up movies 4 a couple of years. I use DVD Decrypter, DVD2One, and then Nero. At first I was unable 2 decrypt one of the earlier files of Bewitched, (think it was 2.1 bup or ifo) but then I d/l AnyDVD and thought I had found the solution. When I used DVD2One, however, it stop at about 2.97 gb of compressed info, saying it can't continue w/o all the files. Turns out that decrypter, fab decrypter also are not copying all the files it looks like. the vts 19 files aren't copying and even when I manually selected them, it's not workn. I have 2 run 4 a few hrs, but any help w/ this would be appreciated. Thx....

Alright everyone this is how I copyed Bewitched

1) Used AnyDVD (Version 5.4.4.1) running in ther background
-------> Once it does its thing

2) Open up DvdFab (Version 2.9.5.2 Beta3)
-------> Save it to a certin location on the Hard Drive

4)Close DvdFab

5)Open DVD Shrink (Version 3.2)
--------> Hit Open Files
--------> Look for where you saved the Movie
5)Hit Backup

6)Then insert black dvd

Why not try one or the other and not both together, these two programs can handle the movie on their own.

this may be redundant at this point, but this is what worked for me. W/ AnyDVD running in the background I used decrypter 2 decode the movie. Instead of using DVD2One, I used shrink. Then I just burned the finished product w/ Nero. Worked fine!

@arniebear

Couple of questions for you amigo.

Are there any conflicts between DVDdecryptor and DVDFabDecrypter that one should be aware of?

What is the difference between (see below), if any?

DVDFab Decrypter v2.9.5.2 and DVDFab Platinum v2.9.5.2

Would there be a benefit to having either?

Thanks for your time.

I, too, only have half the movie show up when using Fabdecrypter, with AnyDVD running in the background. Nothing I tried will read the first few chapters of the movie.

@9mmruger1

There are no conflicts between the two programs I know of, have not noticed any myself, although I really do not use DVD Fab Decrypter because AnyDVD handles all of the protection. As for DVD Fab Platinum that is a pay program and includes the transcoder and a burning engine, this is the DVD Fab Decrypter is the ripper part of the program and was made free after the demise of Decrypter. DVD Fab Platinum works very much like Xcopy and has a trial period if you want to try it out.

@hammitt

Use DVD Fab Decrypter or AnyDVD but do not use these two programs together. DVD Fab does not need AnyDVD in the background it can handle the encryption fine on its own.

@arniebear,

Thanks for the info. I have AnyDVD so I guess I do not need DVD Fab.
I appreciate the time that you have taken with me and with others. It's folks like you, creaky, saugmon, kivory666, borhan to mention a few that make this place a joy to visit.

No problem, and you are welcome we are all here to help each other out. I have DVD Fab but do not use it, but then you never know when you will need it. It's nice to have as many tools as possible to get the job done. As long as you have the space on your comp just let it sit you never know when it will come in handy, and the developer has been keeping it updated just as fast as AnyDVD.

@arniebear,

thanks for the advice, i did try it with just fabdecrypter, and still the same results, using the lastest Shrink, only the last few mins. of the movie show up. Tryed just AnyDVD with CloneDVD and got a cyclic redundancy check at VTS_02_01.VOB, which is the beginning of the movie. With AnyDVD and Shrink i get an invaild dvd navigation structure error, and with AnyDVD and Nero Recode i get a failed to read from VTS_02_01 also. Am beginning to think there are some bad discs from the plant going around. think i'll exchange my copy at different walmart. maybe i'll get lucky and get one from a different batch. thanks again,
