It could be a bad batch but right at the beginning of the movie before the Columbia logo is a blank spot which lasts about 3 to 4 seconds and this is what is causing the problem. I ripped the whole movie with AnyDVD and DVD Decrypter and then backed it up. If I tried to do the movie only it would copy, but the blank would pause my standalones, and I would have to stop it and then hit play to get it to go. Finally, got rid of the blank using Recode in Remake a DVD mode and using start and end to edit it out. However, the backup done of the entire disk plays fine, no stopping.

@arniebear

Do you suppost the start frame and stop frame feature in shrink can get the movie past the blank spot? I will be trying this movie tomorrow along with Sin City.

I tried Shrink but could not get it to edit out the spot, but had no problem with Recode, but then I am more familiar with Recode features as I really do not use Shrink much anymore.

I guess my theory about it being a bad batch was because it seems like as soon as somebody updated AnyDVD, Fabdecrypter, Shrink or CloneDVD, they were able to get it to work while a handfull of us are still getting only 20 mins of the movie no matter if we updated or not. but who the heck knows for sure. i'll exchange mine and see what happens, thanks again, any help is good help.

Not only is a bad batch of discs a possibility I also think your hardware/software combination makes a difference. As of yet I haven't been able to burn this movie but have had succes with others when no one else could.

Just my 2 cents.

And now for an update. With the update released yesterday for AnyDVD I used it with shrink and appears to be no problems.

Do you suppose that there may be different protections encryptions on different presses of the movie?

I have the new AnyDVD and got Cautions about possible protectins so I ripped it with DVDFab and then shrink and burned with decrypter. 100% good.

I got Bewitched to work using DVD Shrink with any dvd in the background the new ver is 5.5.1.1. copy the disk and burn a disk using Shrink dont put it on your hard drive...that was the only way I could get this one to work...nothing else I tried worked on my machine...

ANY DVD UPDATE CHANGES AND FIXES: 5.5.1.1

* New: Added functionality to remove invalid VOBUs from a title set to the option to remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors". This fixes the error message "Out of memory" from DVDShrink with some DVDs, which suffer from a certain mastering error.
* Fix: The option to remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors" could cause DVDShrink to abort with an "invalid Navigation structure" error with some DVDs, which suffer from a certain mastering error.
* Fix: Setup program did not delete obsolete RegCheck.exe file from previous installations
* Fix: Undesired high CPU use for several minutes when checking for program update via internet connection

@buckscrap

Maybe you could go the to library and use their computers to download the new version to a jump (thumb)drive and take it home. That's what I did because my home dialup connection sucks (incredibly slow) so I used the T1 at the office (on my lunch break) lol.

Steps for the not so bright on how burn bewitched!!

First of all its a sony product..duh copyright!!

step 1) download dvd fab new version from afterdawn.com

Asks for a folder on your computer (its about 4.5 Gigabytes if you dont have 4.5 on your comp i suggest not to burn DVDs0

Step2) once downloaded files into your computer usually C; drive open up dvd shrink

Step 3) make sure open folder in DVD Shrink look for folder called whatever you called it when you used dvd fab (by the way if you dont have the new shrink download it from afterdawn.com)

Step 4) on the right side you will a bunch of files consisting of menu, title, special features the garbage which i usually dont burn but hey too each there own.

step 5) look under files to right under main menu right click and drag to the left this file you can preview after by clicking it.

Step 6: click on create a backup (this is an .iso file if you dont know what this is, well its not a dvd yet) it will ask where to save on your c: drive ****remember this iso file will be about 4 GIG so again you should have this amount of free space on your computer..

Step 7) if you haveant downloaded "new" version of DVD Decrypter download the new one now if you have old crap get rid of it otherwise some glitches..in DVD Decrypter select open file look for your new iso image...blah blah blah hitokay then burn image, if you have DVD Decrypter on your comp already after DVD Shrink creates backup it asks do you want to burn it..Trick sometimes you have to burn it on slower speeds to get it all but usually not...otherwise you will get a perfectly good copy of bewitched..if this doesnt help..well you probably should be burning so buy a copy of any dvd and good luck

any questions open new link
