Swap magic 3.3 just stopped working

I've been using swap magic 3.3 for a long time now and my wife just decided to use it the other day. After playing for awhile she left the room for about 30 minutes and when she came back the game was frozen. Now my swap magic cd's wont work but retail games will. Both the dvd and the cd versions of swap magic freeze right before you get the option to load your game or change the video settings. If anyone knows what might have happened and how to fix it I would love to hear about it.

Okay so I unplugged my controler and then pluged it back in and now the swap magic cd's work again.
