Hello all;

Trying to back up John Mayall's 70th birthday concert from a dvd and am having problems. I run Windows XP and generally rip with DVD Decryptor. Have no problems with any other dvds but for some reason this one. Tried ripping with Dvd Shrink but still the same problem. Here is what I get:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Programming error -exception occured
The instruction at "0x7c91142e" reference memory at "0x00000005". The memory could not be "read".

Stops at 94% encoded.

Anyone else had this problem?

I have tried this on 3 different computers and always get the same thing.

I'm not familiar with that title but I'm assuming it's a newer release.

Thanks for the quick response....

It is a 2003 release...but there is no jumping guy it just stops at 94% and then displays the error message.....

I have d/l DVD43 and will try agian with DVD Shrink and see what happens....

Still didn't work. Trying again...this time ripping with DVD Decryptor...will try DVD Shrink again but that is where my problem always is. Gets to 94% then 'Encounters a problem'. I have never had this problem before with any dvds. Any help would be appreciated. How do most people do a dvd rip when there is a DVD Shrink issue? It seems that DVD Decryptor is no problem it is when I try to shrink it to burn on a dvd.

i was having a similar problem. turns out my hard drive was going out. do u have a secondary or external hard drive that u could rip to? then run DVD Shrink. chances are it will work

Thanks but I know that is not the problem as I have succesfully ripped the movie to hard drives on 3 different computers and it always comes up with the same error message. The last time I ripped with was with DVD Decryptor and it stop at 94% and a message popped up that said `this disk is not supposed to be protected'. Options were to try anyway to break the protection and it worked. Trying now to do a deep analysis with DVD Shrink to see if it will work. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Well it failed again. Was doing a deep analysis and it stopped at 94% and a message popped up that said `an error has occured and cannot continue.

So you have the complete file on your HD ripped by DVD Decrypter right? If you have Nero, try using recode...it's written by the same dude that made shrink. If not download CloneDVD trial here:

And see if you have any luck with it.
