Have used for mos. but now having problem, could be this movie ROBOTS.
Used DVDDecrypter ,ANYDVD then Shrink gives me this :Shrink encounter
an error and cannot continue, Failed to read File H:\Robots,Invalid
access to memory Location.
I unistalled Shrink and reinstalled but got same results.
DVDDecrypter had no problem with the movie and I deleted file and used DVDDecrypter again but Shink gave me the same results.
I fact I have gone thru the same standard steps we have used on all
movies 3 times .
Has anyone had success with Shrink and ROBOTS?

HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!
From the error it seems to possibly be a memory problem. How much ram does your PC have? Shut down all programs that auto start on boot up and try again. Also check for spyware and adware that may be using your system resources without you knowing it. It doesn't actually look like a problem with Shrink but with getting to your files on H drive. Is H drive an internal or external HD? Kind of hard to pin point it at this time.
I did Robots with CloneDVD 2 and AnyDVD so I know AnyDVD will decrypt it without a problem. I don't use Shrink that much anymore.
Thanks,I used Shrink by its self but get same error.
Have 768MB Ram,HD is external WD 120GB
Dell Pentium 4 2.2 GHz
Windows XP SP1
Plextor 716A
Preceding ROBOTS, I used Shrink on HERBIE FULLY LOADED and no problem,
this problem only started with ROBOTS, but that does not mean that the next movie will not give Shrink a problem.
When I say preceding, I mean 45 min. The problem started in a matter of 45 mins.
zhelpz, you are right ,I only used Shrink for a few seconds to see if I got the same error that I was getting using the program to shrink to 4.7 GB.
The solution to my problem and the error that Shrink was giving me
do not seem correct, because what solved everything was exchanging
original disk for another new one. After that all programs worked
great, including Shrink.
So from now on I will not assume the error is telling the truth.
Thanks to all for your help!
@zhelpz, Shrink was designed to shrink down large DVD9 movies to fit a DVD5 4.7gig blank. Therefore it will work on all sizes. The problem is Shrink hasn't been updated for over a year and never will be anymore. So it still works as a compression program and still decrypts but will have problems with any movie with the newer type encryption on it. If you run the AnyDVD decrypter behind Shrink it will work on all encrypted movies with Anydvd's help.
Ok - I think this one of those things where I just misunderstood its use - A lonnnng time ago when I first started backing up my dvd's I read about Shrink first and mis-read it *L* All this time I could have just used it by itself - but its no big deal - I usually use more up-to-date encoders anyway - it goes faster like that. I used to use DVD43 but ever since the update I had to uninstall it - too many issues - I have tried AnyDVD - but every time it would load it would screw my screen up - I was happy with the success rate - but i could find no way to stop the screen problem so I was not real happy about that one either. Im gonna try shrink alone with some of my older movies just to see if it will get through them - Its always good to have a few different options ...
