How to burn data on a DVD with data already on it..Mulitsession

i have a dvd filled about 3 gigs of data. i want to add more and i burned it as multisession, allow files to be add later but when i go to burn more stuff on the dvd it says insert a blank dvd

what program are you using and are you importing the original files to your project so you can add files

Did you mistakenly leave the box marked 'Finalize' checked off? If it's a DVD+/-R, you can't add more if you finalize.
