i dont have a modchip, but i can put the dvd in my kids ps2 and it plays fine. but when i put it in mine ( witch is in a car) it says disc read error.... any ideas

also i have tried the (+) and (-) disc and cant get either one to play in it. i also have another ps2 in my living room. it also dont play either disc??? do i just have 2 bad ps2's?????

some dvd backups (movies) play on newer versions of the playstation..
ps2 V7+ confirmed to play DVD backups...

It depends which version PS2 you have. v.1-4, don't play DVD+R's well, v.5-8 are 50/50, v9-13 seem to work better with DVD+R's. What brand DVD-R's or +R's are you using?
