I've been away from the forum for a while, due to the excellent guides on this site. I noticed a post that Decrypter is no more. Mine is still working like a champ combined with Shrink. Should I start doing my homework on Imgburn? I figure "if it ain't broke don't fix it", however I have always been better at surrounding myself with smarter people, which this forum definitely has. Any input would be appreciated.

DVD Decryptyper is one of the best programs I've used. There shouldn't be any reason to not use DVDD at all. If it doesn't work for some copyrighted dvds, try having DVD43 running in the background. You might also try downloading DVD Fab Decrypter. It's similar like DVDD w/o the burning program. DVDD no longer is updated, but DVD Fab Decrypter is.

I have found that at least so far, DVDDECRYPTER works on everything. I also use DVDSHRINK, CLONEDVD2 and AnyDVD. I also own the program which I will not name that went out of business leaving me with a $150.00 EDSEL. I always felt that I got taken on that one. Shortly after buying the program I found this website and learned a lot about decrypting software. I have not used the unnamed program since discovering this website.

pa104inf, I bought that program too and thought that it was the only way of backing up my movies. I didn't spend that much because I wasn't convinced that it was the best program...only got the gold. Got tons of movies on Memor-shiet and thought that I was on top of the world. Now, only some movies still work, but all in all, if its recommended by AD then it will work.

Oh I feel so sorry for you two folx (KCflyGuy & pa104inf)

Why because I too was in the same sit - Im so glad you got the cheaper version - like pa104inf, I too am out of 150 bux! But I will say that I probably did get my monies worth in the amount of backups I did successfully. My way of saying - I feel your pain *L*

Hawk - I think you said it best yourself - IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT - however, I think it is always a good idea to have a back up or two of at least one or another program (free or not) because every now and then I will run into a problem with one - so I use another - and between two main programs I get what I need to backup my dvd movies. I was using DVD43 but had problems since the new install - I am thinking about trying to re-install an older version when i get around to it.

I have recently discovered dvdfab - it works - at least the free ones dont cost anything just to keep as backups. Then if things really get bad there is always AnyDVD - it doesnt seem to cost much - and it all the "rave" around these forum walls *S*

my two penniez
