if i was you i would get anydvd and uninstall dvd43,as slysoft so far has been out front on updates on the new protections that come out.

new version that came out yesterday.

5.5.1.1, 2005 10 27

- New: Added functionality to remove invalid VOBUs from a
title set to the option to remove "Protection based on
unreadable Sectors". This fixes the error message "Out
of memory" from DVDShrink with some DVDs, which suffer
from a certain mastering error.
- Fix: The option to remove "Protection based on unreadable
Sectors" could cause DVDShrink to abort with an "invalid
Navigation structure" error with some DVDs, which suffer
from a certain mastering error.
- Fix: Setup program did not delete obsolete RegCheck.exe
file from previous installations
- Fix: Undesired high CPU use for several minutes when
checking for program update via internet connection

And hotrod456, for the next couple of weeks you can save $10 on AnyDVD .. it's waaaay better than DVD43 .. I know that when I'd play CDs with DVD43 installed that sometimes they wouldn't play right when they first started .. I got rid of that sucker and voila! my CDs play just fine in my PC .. Also, AnyDVD gets updated regularly, also cracks CD protection .... Try it out (free for 21 days) Just make sure you buy it before the $10 offer expires because you'll want it after you try it ...

Regards to DVD43 free, I have attempted to go to the website www.DVD43.com and I can't get in. The screen says Forbidden entry and a 403 (?) code. Is anyone else having this problem?

ireland , kivory, whomever,

Can you all explain to me what something is when it is a BETA version? Does that simply mean it is in a "testing" phase and using it may cause problem that the program owners want you to report? I really do not know ....

Great!

I tried out (free trial) the combo of AnyDVD w/ Clonedvd2 for a couple of weeks - i was not extremely impressed w/ Clone dvd2 but I did like AnyDVD - for some reason though my desktop screen would mess up whenever AnyDVD was in "working mode" - i never figured out why - I uninstalled that one - redownloaded it again and end up purchasing it - don't have the problem at all. Really cant beat it for the price and then I enabled my afterdawn-member discount so I went ahead and got the package deal for the both of 'em - I figured for the price - I may as well - especially w/ free lifetime upgrades - not one year of free upgrades like with alot of other types of programs.

Thanks for providing the link - i think I will go ahead and upgrade - I probably won't notice anything different being as though I am a newer user of the program

I'm using DVD43v14 with no problems on DVDs as new as The Wedding Date. I don't think I've ever updated it.

I installed DVD43 but have not used it . I also installed on a trial basis 1click and hope to test the copyprotection problem this eveningby buring a dvd as a trial . My question is however, if I were to try and download AnyDVD, should i uninstall DVD43 to avoid any kind of behind the scene mis-compatabilites. I am trying to avoid any conflicts between software programs. In my readings, most people seem to lean toward AnyDVD as opposed to DVD43 regardless of the fact that its free. Any help would be appreciated.

AnyDVD and DVD43 do not seem to get along together. You need to use either one or the other. I've used both and ended up purchasing AnyDVD ... It is a much more stable program and is updated very frequently. By the way, right now you can get a $10 discount on AnyDVD.

thanks for the information. I was afraid of some type of complication between the 2 programs. I will try however to see how well DVD43 works with 1 Click, then compare it to AnyDVD after I uninstall DVD43. I also had some difficulty in uninstalling DVD43 but eventually ran a search on the files and manually eliminated them 1 by 1. JERRY

Ok, and sorry for so many questions. I have downloaded both AnyDVD and 1Click. Am I to understand that AnyDVD runs in the background, so their is nothing for me to do other than use 1Click and I will be able to duplicate a dvd that is copyprotected, for my own use? Did I understand this correctly. I took a look at DvdClone, and even downloaded it and found it to be to confusing. All I want to do is make a second dvd copy. Thanks for any help in responding. JERRY
