I was surprised to come across this problem.

DVD was created using VSO2, burned with NERO using NEC ND-3540A drive on SONY YUDEN002 T02 media.

The created DVD disc had played on JVC HR-XVC27U DVD player with DVD+R read capabilities, but for some reason refused to play on both Panasonic DMR-ES20 (Home DVD burner) and GoVideo DVR4200 DVD player, which also support DVD+R read.

At first I thought the Media I was using is crappy, but after I read some articles online, I found out the meadia is not bad at all. Infact, it is widely compatible.

Would somebody please tell me what is the most logical reason behind this problem. I recorded the movie using VSO guide on this site and burned according to the guide also.

I don't have personal experience with those standalone DVD burners but have a Toshiba standalone that can be very picky. Really not a quality issue... simply picky. Some of the standalones I've heard have some sort of copyright protection built in so as not to play a 'copied movie'. Luckily mine does.

A 'search' for vso2 only pulls up your thread. So I'm not sure what it really is. I'm guessing it is a DivX conversion or something similar. I still think it is a compatibility issue. Backup a DVD with those disks and I'm betting it will play. Have you tried something similar to the VSO2? The Panasonic thread says NO DivX and maybe a conversion isn't any better. Who knows? Good Luck.

Loooha...
Since you utilized a DVD +R disc, did you bother to Booktype the disc before burning?

Outlaw,

Since I completely had no idea what booktyping/bitsetting was when you asked the question, I have done a little research and found out it makes the disc more compatible, if im not mistaken. However, I still do not know exactly what it is, how it is done and why exactly.

So to answer your question, NO, I had not "booktyped" the disc prior to burning.

Thanx for the support!

I had found a similar thread which might resolve my problems.
No further help needed if not notified later.
