Ive had my fliptop for a month and I love it. It way better than that damn slide card. Plus When I used my slide card it felt like it wouldnt be hard to damage the dvd drive. I got mine from clearxbox.com. There in Cali, Im in arkansas. It was here in three days. I think it was about 25 bucks after shipping.
Now the only gripe I have (and Ive posted this befor) is the whit disc doesnt have a magnet in it. I had to take the white disc from my dvd drive and pop it in. Ive been told all of them are like this.
Violence. I backed up San Andreas using dvd decryptor works fine with my swapmagic 2.0 dvd. Notice I said 2.0. Mabe the new version has a prob with it.

I got the Slide card and it does not work too well for me, I bought from "ps2cover". I don't recommended, it takes really long time go get it.
I bought from another place, I am waiting for the fliptop case hopefully it works better.

i am having trouble with my flip top did i have to take off the cover of the laser case and swith the white disk the thing that pushes the disk down from the old one, the new top didnt come with it. and do i use the eject or open the flip top. i used dvdencryter for madden 2005 i know i did somthing wrong but what i dont know? please help!!!!

Word to the wise stay away from http://www.ps2cover.com. They have the worst customer service, that is if they do have one. They have no number to call and don't repond to e-mails as promise. I ordered a cover and swap disc from them back in Feb and have yet to receive it. I've sent them mutiple e-mails asking about the status of my order and about a month later they said they sent out defective products and were waiting on a new shipment. I guess the new shipment never came in.

I am new to PS2 mod. I have been looking into the swap magic w/ slide card or the no solder Modchip. Could anyone tell me which one is better or is there something else out there that is good. I tried to look through previous post for the answer but there is so many. Thank you.

DONT get the no solder mod (unless its the dms ez one). I recommend the fliptop hence the title of this thread.

Thanks sly_61019 for the info. Sorry, I am still new at this forum thing. I did not notice the title. If I wanted to get a flip top, where can I get one for a v7 machine. The site I went to had them for the new slim ones.

Don't worry Jizmak I like your white chocolate or oreo cookie or whatever you want to call it, I may pick up the blue top from clearxbox and keep the black bottom, I'll have to wait until my v9 comes in though. What version are you running anyway Jizmak?

no, swap magic doesn't work for movies.

I dont know if its a movie but I bought a ps2 magazine recently its a japanese version and it came with a Hideo Kojima in MGS3 PRIVATE DISC...it says DVD video...but not sure if its a interactive game or just a video...I put it in and the borders turned red...
So you said it doent work for movies...but it will work for Region 2 games? like japanese import games?

Don't need to use SMD for the movies.
Yes, that's is right, STAY AWAY FROM ps2cover.com, they are the worst customer service.
