Hello.....sounds to me by what you have described you have either a version 1 , 2 or 3. if you have 10 scews. 8 screws are your version 4-7. hope this helps. You can check this site of for further information. (Mods....I hope its ok to post this ....sorry if i'm not suppose too. Please advise if I'm not to do this in the future.)

well then thats a toss up....serial number of version 4...but has 10 screws??? You're going to have to order a fliptop version that has 10 screws.....and of course the swap magic disks will work on any of them. Good luck.

Sorry.....I do not know of any sites for UK. I saw some where online that you can use the 8 screw cover and modify it to fit the 10 hole. Might want to try that. Everything is the same. ALl you need to do is drill 2 more holes... If I can find that site I'll be sure to post ...till then...Good luck.

Isnt the fliptop lid just keeping the switch closed couldnt you just solder the swith closed (always on)????And put a switch on power adapter for on and off???Im talking about slimline v12+ and also they say the h20 subzero by summ0ne is the best for these as it fix's laser overheat problem. Also you should get the spu3100 laser anyway it works better than pvr802 thats very cruddy.

Dont worry about the flip top just get a mod chip and solder the lid switch closed or cut off the bit of plastic that activates it.Or even put an external switch re route the switch to the outside of case easy to do.

All flip top is for is to prevent switch on front that tell micro that youve opend lid.All you gotta do is solder this switch 2 points with a link and it remains thinking its always closed. Now the brake for the disc I think you want to keep as it would be hard to change disks while still spinning lol and its not connected to any electronics its mechanicaly operated with lid to just halt the disk spinning. Why you need a 30 buck lid you can solder switch take 2 mins. Its on same board at front with ir sensor and reset/power switch (not that switch). Also just snip the plastic activator on the old lid off.

ps2cover.com is a scam so do not ever buy from them.the best site is clearxbox.com it is for both xbox and ps2 just click ps2 covers and i found the top of a case(white or blue)for 12 dollars and a blacko one for 18.that is what i call cheap plus the delivery took threee days and i am satisfied:)

I just super glued a peice of plastic over the rear switch [(cut a small peice off an old cd cover)(dont try and solder this switch as it has pn junctions and resistor networks linked to it)]and soldered a link on the front switch so it always thinks the lid is closed.:-)Then use swap magic, open lid, (swap magic stops motor from spinning disc) then put in game and your off.

sup peeps,
with the old school ps2, i'm still having problems with this, i installed it and everything. doesn't want to load new games, sounds kinda funny when reading discs, and someone mentioned a magnet?
i was also looking into buy the slim version, i liked how i didn't have to buy a cover but have individual pieces that lay on it - like in some new video.
i appreciate all the help. thanks.
