boarder44 - you have exactly the same setup I have: v4 gt3 edition and a + burner, you're fine, it'll work. Use either DVD Decrypter or the latest version of CloneCD to make your copies - both work just as well.

Thanks for answering back epepper9. :-)
Does this site also sell for PS2 PAL v.3?
By the way, what are SM discs?
Thanks in advance.
Regards.

Also...
Does anybody know if http://www.ps2fliptop.net/ is a secure site? I mean... I'm currently in Europe and I wouldn't want to pay for something that will never be sent here...
Thanks.

I bought 2 fliptops at different times from them. they are secure. I used paypal. Good quality too, thats why its a bit more expensive than other sites.

Swap magic discs. When you talk about PAL, you mean for the discs, right? because apart from that, it doesn't matter. I live in Australia and use PAL as well. :)
It sells fliptop versions 1-3 and 4-8 I think. It should have the latest PAL swap magic too.

Does this mean that if you install this Flip Top cover thing that you do not need a mod chip install in the PS2 to run burn games? or do you still need the mod chip installed..

bigmac - first of all does it load any games at all (originals)? if not you may have knocked something loose when you installed the new cover, second, what program are you using to copy and what kind of discs are you using? Have you installed any kind of mod chip? And lastly, what kind of dvd burner are you using?

If you were having slow bootup with oringinals before you installed the covers then it sounds like your laser lens needs to be cleaned or replaced. You can find instructions on how to clean the lens at http://www.fliptopcover.com It is a common problem, exceialy with units that use the B lens. B lens is for version 4 SCPH30001 and some others. C lens is a better lens and can replace the B lens but the C is a bit more epxpensive then the B.

I have been using this forum for quite some time for assistance in backing up ps2 games .. after aquiring a fliptop for my v1 ps2 and using swap magic 3.3 dvd's were backing up great w/ dvd decryptor cd's i found worked best w/ alcohol 120%
my problem was slow start up times, loud spinning noises, and the cd based games wouldn't boot up
the fix for all of these problems was to replace the white disc on the fliptop cover lid with the original from the ps2(it has a magnet in it) ... now everything is fast, quiet and relatively error free.

Well, bigmac, the only thing I can think of would be to find someone with a +r burner and get them to make a copy of a game for you - then try the +r copy in your ps2 and see if it works. If it does you've identified the problem and you can decide what to do about it, if it still doesn't work then the only other possibility is the swap discs themselves - unlikely, but it could be that the newer swap magic discs don't work with older ps2's.

hey guys just wanted to reiterate how good saveware is. I got mine in about 2 days after i talked to the guy. The thing works perfect, I have played a bunch of backups and imports with no problems. Actually, I have an extra if anyone wants to buy one off of me. I'll take any offers, i have 51 100% rating on ebay.
