I just bought the Fuji's on sale at Best Buy, however, all they had were Made in Taiwan Fuji's. I bought them anyways and haven't opened them.

Should I stick with those or go to Office Depot and buy their 100 for $30.

Wait until tomorrow and buy: Best Buy - Verbatium 16x -\+R 50 pack for $17.99 (I have an 8x burner would the 16x work with my burner).

What would some of you experts recommened?

Thanks, this site is awesome and so helpful!

I would go with tomorrow's Verbatim sale, and look for the ones made in Taiwan (MCC is the manufacturer code). MIT Fuji likely will code as Prodisc made and Office Depot is a crapshoot as to quality supplier or not. Verbatim sounds like the most likely to be quality, unless you can find the MIJ Fuji at Staples (#30 Spindle codes as TY and was on sale for $8.94).
Yes, the 16X will do fine in an 8X burner as long as firmware is reasonably up to date. Burn movies at 4X anyway, for best quality.

The Office Depot are likely Riteks which are very good for a house brand. Plus they are roughly $6 cheaper than the 16x Verbs. I like most all of the Verbs but have had terrible compatibility issues with the 16x.(My DVD players are older models.) If you went with the Verbs I'd recommend the +R format.

I disagree with the Office Depot brand being a crapshoot. In fact the MIT Fuji is more so. I've been buying Office Depot branded discs for several years, and as of yet have NEVER seen +R or -R discs that were not made by Ritek. These will be either RitekG05 or RitekR03 .. certainly not a crapshoot by any stretch of the imagination.

As far as the Fuji discs go ... the source of MIT Fuji discs greatly depends on the format. +R 8x are more than likely to be Ritek and the 8x -R are either ProDiscF01 or FujiFilm03.

The Verbatim discs are better than these, but the Ritek made discs are very good and are very compatible with all burners ...

Personally, I'd get the Verbatim discs. However, the OD discs are good also.

i am with catfreak on this one too~ :)

Verbatim first choice, Office Depot Riteks being 2nd choice~ i wouldn't even BOTHER with the MIT Fuji due to the risk of getting Prodisc~ (personal opinion of course, i WILL NOT use Prodisc due to the poor results that i HAVE HAD with them in the past) :)

I've used both, but the fuji's that i puchased were from Fry's electronic, they work well in all my pioneer 16x burners, but are a little pricey 50 for $39.99. The verbatims i purchased were from Sams 100 for 41.95 both are white inkjet printable. only problem that i have run into, is i cannot switch between the two without rebooting my computers. Other than that both seem to work well, the fuji's are 8x the verbatims are 16x, still havent gotten any to burn at that speed though, 12x is the max. And yes i've done all the firmware updates to my burners.
