I'm not saying the PS2 is horrible :P... I just have a different opinion than you...
I have to say some of the games you listed are pretty decent, but some are...um...not so
good!!!
I'm just waiting for that special day of the Mega-Console to kill all other consoles!!!

lol, well said! everybody likes different games, and some console specialize in some kind of games, maybe when only one console will remain, all the games'll be on it! so everybody'll be happy! lol

that brings up an interesting concept.a game console that is capable of playing xbox and ps2 games and maybe other consoles too.like a universal console.it would obviously be attacked by both sony and microsoft but it wouldnt be copyright infringement as the console wouldnt be a duplicate of either systems.
or maybe a device that allows you to play ps2 games on the xbox and vice versa.and different device add ons or software for other game systems also.like what emulators do for the computer but better.just some food for thought.

Doggy bot.... that sure was not many games you listed. Stop being a fanboy. Everyone knows that xbox only has a handful of good games.
If we sat and listed all the good ps2 games we would probably have this post shutdown for posting too long of a post. Xbox list is well how can we say, kinda short. The system with the best selection of great games is also the one that sold the most systems.
And i am not going to be ignorant to say that something dumb like all xbox games suck, b.c they dont.

me my self im an xbox person and i have nothin against ps2 i recon its great but it aint my thing i had a psx then when xbox and ps2 came out i got an xbox and it proved it self woth the money, i thort it was great and it still is, now people are saying xbox dosen't have many good game i belive xbox has a heap of great game but so dose ps2, but the games that are on both console always run better on xbox, a good game to me is something that is interesting but runs well as well, gta sa i had on ps2 and i thort it was good but it was a bit buggy and i couldn't play it cause it was annoying me now i got it on xbox and it's great but anyways thats just my thorts,

I agree with you about acting properly. I own a PS2. I know you all will think I'm biased but I have good points as to why the ps2 has a better game library. A game library is not only about great games. Most people say that Halo 2 is reason enough for the Xbox. But we're talking about a game library. So by listing genres I'll say which I think has more good games in that genre.
First is where the Xbox completely loses
Role Playing Games- I don't think I have to say anything here. This is the main reason why Japanese gamers haven't bought an XBox
First Person Shooters- PS2 has some good ones but XBox clearly wins this
Third Person Shooters- Both are pretty well matched. All the good ones are on both consoles. I'm listing this as even. Note: This does not include games like Ninja Gaiden. This is for third person and shooting with guns
Stealth games- This one PS2 wins but barely because of MGS
Action/Adventure- This is for games like Prince of Persia, Ninja Gaiden, etc etc. I'd say the Xbox would win this one but PS2 also has good ones. Very close
Fighting games- PS2 wins because of Tekken and Virtual Fighter. Some people will say DOA is better because of the girls and I'll say "They're completely fake. Real girls who try to dress up like that end up looking like whores."
Platformers- Like Mario,etc. Neither have many. So call this even.
Sports games- Also even
Flying games- Now XBox has crimson skies and panzer dragoon orta which are both fantastic but PS2 has ace combat and lethal skies. So if you like more modern flying games then PS2 but if you want those based in older times and a great dragon game then XBox. Both have a few futuristic flying games. I'd have to say PS2 because modern flying games are harder to make because of all the missile trails and radar and everything.
Sim games- Just put this in for fun. Both come out even.
After counting score. 1 mark for win. 1 mark each for even.
XBox- 6
PS2- 8
So in conclusion PS2 has a better game library i.e. it has great and good games and more of them.

very thorough explaination.but the only disagreement i have with your ratings would be the action/adventure genre.ps2 has the likes of shadow of rome,god of war,devil may cry,ratchet and clank and other noteable games.the only game i hear from xbox is ninja gaiden.
i dont have xbox so im under the impression that based on ninja gaiden being so good that it constitutes a better action/adventure selection based on that fact.

I know sui-cyco. But technically rachet and clank is platformer. Just a weapons based platformer. It's true that they are great games but we, as PS2 supporters, can afford to give that to them. And I just remembered two more genres
Driving games- Forza Motorsport, Project Gotham Racing, Gran Turismo, etc. I'd have to say XBox wins this because PS2 basically only has GT and the old NFS:HP2(I think this one had no XBox port). But NFS:HP2 was great arcade fun. Xbox wins this one though
Rythm games- Games like Amplitude. This is a little unfair but looking at it broadly I don't think XBox even has these kinds of games.
Oh I also forgot another one
Puzzle games- Katamari for PS2. Need I say more. Ps2 wins.
So new score is
Xbox- 7
PS2- 10

I called platformers even when I clearly shouldn't have. I completely forgot 2 platformers that I think are the best I've played and so do many other people. Not to mention another one. PS2 wins platformers carried by Rachet and Clank, Sly Cooper and Jak. Oh there's maximus too.

i was seriously inquiring about the action/adventure games on the xbox.thats the only game i hear people talk about with the xbox as far as action/adventure,ninja gaiden.i mean is there anymore?
and it shouldnt matter which is the best if you own both systems because you can play the best of both worlds.
its kinda unfair though,that xbox came out after ps2 thats why it boasts a more powerful system.but then again ps2 benefits from a bigger game library because of it.but now they have switched roles.with xbox 360 coming out way before ps3.so now xbox 360 will have the bigger library and ps3 will have the more powerful system.though i heard the 360 wont be backwards compatible?true or false?

Lethal_B is partly right. It is backward compatible but not for all XBox games. Most of the popular ones are backwards compatible though. And the XBox 360 is not coming out much earlier than the PS3. Roughly only half a year unless Sony delays it. And because the XBox 360 is coming out earlier doesn't mean it will have a larger game library. It has little or no platformers, RPGs and fighting games which could make it sell very good in Japan. And I would remain reserved about Media Center capability. Like many Microsoft products it probably has a lot of bugs and can be hacked into easily. The PS3's media center capability should be more reliable as it's running on a Linux OS.

There are lots of XBox modders too. They even show you how lots of times on the Screen Savers at TechTV. And it can be updated through online updates. That's one use of the hard drive. Connect to Microsoft server and update the software.
