The Brand is GreatAZO which means that they use AZO dye right? It's only 16 cents piece, but it's name so that worries me, I've never heard of GreatAZO. I've never had +R 4x before, want to try it out. Has anyone heard of these? Well here's the link any ways.

I'd say stay away. Stick with the 'known' good stuff - Taiyo and Verbatim.
Not good reviews on this 'great' azo brand either at videohelp.com:

The type of dye that is used in the manufacture of discs is only part of the equation. The application of the dye just might be even more important than the actual dye type. Inferior disc manufacturing processes include the uneven applications of the dye, poor adhesion of the dye and poor spreading of the dye towards the outer edge where it is most critical due to the speed of the disc surface ... meaning as the laser nears the edge of the disc, the speed of the surface gets faster and faster making the spread of the dye more critical in preventing and avoiding read and write errors.

The bottom line is that cheap media will give you poor results. Stick with tried and true manufacturers and you'll make your burning experience more pleasurable and extend the life of your burner ..

RUN glueater, RUN~!!

i KNOW for a fact i spoke at lengths about this in another thread, can't seem to find it, but that particular thread made a sheer mockery of these discs...whether it be "GreatAzo" or "HighQuality" or "GQ-GreatQuality"...these generic name brands NEVER deliver what they supposedly "claim or promise" in regards to their quality~ :)

the sillier the name, the faster you should avoid them~ my 2 cents~

Hello GlueEater,

Install DVD Identifier v4.20 and get all the info off those disk.

I will tell you what company made them, and what's the media ID.

I have a strong feeling they will be CMC Magnetics Inc.

Or even worse, cannot be identified :)

I had elto cheapo media a long time ago, and DVD Identifier (Forget what version) could not even identify them, so I assume they were real crap :)

My 2 cents...

Hi there,

Taiyo Yuden, Taiyo Yuden, Taiyo Yuden, Taiyo Yuden, Taiyo Yuden...

I don't gamble anymore...

I live in Canada, so I buy all my Yuden's from

http://www.blankmedia.ca

It might be a tiny more because of shipping, but hey, I get genuine Taiyo Yuden, so I order and smile :)

These off brand disks are amoung the worst you can buy. Much worse than CMC. Someone gave me their burned movies on GQ (great quality) disks bought from Fry's Electronics at very low price. None of my standalones, nor any of my three computers could read these disks well enough to watch all the way through. I could not copy the files onto better media, because of all the read errors. Lesson: they are not worth it even if they were for free; The finished product wouldn't be very useful, anyway.
Great AZO, GQ, HQ probably doesn't matter. Besides, you can find quality name brands on sale in the 30-40 cents each range. It doesn't pay to skimp.
