On My computer right click. go to properties, and under teh hardware tab click Device Manager. On DVD/CD Rom click so that it expands. then click drive you want ot see. It should be under "details" scroll right. I should be the combo of numbers and letters just to the right of burner model.

What Operating System do you have? If you have Windows XP, go to My Computer>View System Information>Hardware Tab>Device Manager> Expand the DVD/CD-Rom drives + sign, right click on the drive you want to check, properties,check the details tab. Device instance id. The last numbers after the long__________is your firmware version number. Hope this helps. It's also in your BIOS, but this is the easiest way.

Hi there,

There are many ways of getting the firmware revision on your drive.

I like to use VSO Inspector v1.1

If provides you the firmware revision, what your drive can read/burn, give you info on your media (Media ID) and scan your burned media sector by sector & File Scan to make sure you have 100% Error Free (Reading) your burned media...
