This is in response to your question in my other thread. For some reason when I posted a reply it went to the middle of the page in that thread, not the end.
I wanted to start this thread so you didn't think I was ignoring your question.
I don't have a Nero History folder within the Ahead folder. I don't know why.
After using the Search in windows I found it.

I think I have it solved. It was a firmware issue. Last night I downloaded what I thought was the latest firmware from a 3rd party site...
I went to the Samsung site and there were like 4 updated firmware downloads since the one I had. After I downloaded the latest, the Office Depot discs worked and even my TDK (which I wasted about 10 of trying to get one to work last week).
Thanks a ton!

congrats you got it figured out, i was wondering why the RitekG05s, even on YOUR setup didn't work~ :)
stick with good media buddy, now that you got the firmware issue resolved, don't back track and go back to using crappy media (ie. TDK in your case) :)
have a good one~

about the RitekG05s, I was reading over at cdfreaks that these are bad. Over there they are like CMC Mags over here.
I guess they claim they stop working or reading after a few months? I hope this isn't the case because I am using them to backup my HD.

well, both AfterDawn and CD Freaks have their die hard media supporters, this is where we will generally DISAGREE, the difference is like night and day~ :)
but, EVERYONE is entitled to THEIR OWN OPINIONS regarding media, it's up to YOU to decide for yourself as to what works for you and what does not~
i PERSONALLY have had great amounts of success with the RitekG05s, my oldest ones are about 3 years old when they 1st came out into the market and were very expensive when 4x rated media was the standard~ MINE still play back flawlessly to this day, and these are older than my Taiyo Yudens and my Verbatims, just to give you an idea of the longevity of them FOR ME :)
perhaps the people putting down Ritek over there @ CD FREAKS just didn't have much success with them, just like I and many others HERE on AD speak lowly of CMC MAG manufactured discs...depending on WHERE u go and WHAT you read, there are ALWAYS going to be disagreements when it comes to media preferrability...just take both opinions with a grain of salt and see which ones WORK FOR YOU, that is the most important thing, regardless of who's "right" or "wrong" :)

try closing down tasks when burning. You only had 82MB free memory for this process.

doesnt like your Ritek G05, or a firmware issue is going on. I didn't check your firmware version as i am doing this at work, but your firmware could be out of date. Try a different brand of good media like Verbatim, or some Taiyo Yudens.
You were also trying to burn at 8x. Sometimes you can get media to burn at 4x when it wouldn't at 8x. I burn anywhere from 4x-8x depending on media being used and importance of data.

You have Nero's INCD packet installed, and it gives confilcts many programs. An un-install is not always successful. Do a search on this site using InCD as the search term. Look for a thread that tells of a "zapper" program that completely removes InCD from your system.
I see you got it fixed, but i will post this anyway.

only last week i made the mistake of posting to a few CMC threads at cdfreaks. some of those guys swear by CMC but i told them that's good for THEM, ppl like us at AD see countless logfiles with CMC, we analyse the logfiles, fix all the problems.tweak all the settings and it's nearly always CMC discs sitting there looking embarressed at the end of it all

I think we can all agree that the guys over at CD freak... are idiots. CMC mags have been tested and on nearly all of the test they have stopped working over the course of a year (or was it 2?).
The history is in Ahead\Nero\History. You skipped a part.

You need to dump those 2 (Roxio & InCD) horrible programs/applications from your system. They'll only conflicts with Nero, therefore, you'll more than likely to get "coasters" on the road.
Go here http://www.downloadjunction.com/product/store/15199 and get Roxio Zapper to completely wipe out Roxio from your system.
Go here http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/InCD_CleanTool.html and get InCD General Clean Tool to completely clean out InCD from your system as well.
