Philips dual layer dvd

In the Argos caatalogue on page 1082 there is Philips dual layer dvd blank media. My question is does anyone know how good they are? Is it worth me buying them? Thank you

I have never tried the Phillips brand of DL Discs so I can't speak from experience. Their single layer blank DVDs get bad reports on this site and are referred to as crap media. General good advice is not to buy their blank media. Verbatim are supposed to be the best available and most highly recommended. I myself have used about 30 Memorex DL discs and they have never let me down, they work perfectly in all of my standalone players, no pausing even at the layer break. Memorex are generaly viewed as poor media by most After Dawn Members. I recently bought 10 Fuji DL discs to tryout they code out as Ricohjpn I havn't tried burning any of them yet but I am confident they should be OK. Bottom Line DON'T buy the Phillips, my 2 cents anyhow.

If you have means of paying online I'd suggest www.svp.co.uk for decent media in the U.K , I usually have either the Datawrite Optima Blue G05 DVD-Rs or Taiyo Yuden x8 DVD-R in 100 spindle (lot , lot cheaper buying online & you dont have to put up w/ high.st nonsense brands that are known to be rubbish .. as previously stated above) :-)

yep memorsux have a bad rep because they buy from all sorts of ppl ie cmc . in your case their D/L media is usually RITEKD01 D/L which happens to be top grade gear. (see my sig)
