This is my first post on these forums, so here goes.
Got myself some Ritek dvd-r's, as above, and I'm having big trouble writing to them. Ive used Ritek media before with no such problems.
I'm using nero 6 with the latest update and a Pioneer 109 burner again with the most upto date firmware, the discs are randomly kicked out by the burner saying write error, Ive never had any coasters off the previous Ritek media, that was an 8x(actually used 12x, with no problem) printable(not full face) media not sure which dye.
yes had same probs with ritek printable full face 8x.batch of faulty discs.when looked at the surface you could see slight pin holes,took back to supplier he exchanged and all ok.some gave a bad burn missed out sections on the disc.hope this helps
Thats the problem, just held 3 upto a VERY bright halogen light and ALL of them have the pin holes that you mention in them dread to think how many out of the 100 ive got are dodgy.
Seems like Ritek have got some problems with this particular disc, same as I said before Ive used Ritek before with a very low coaster rate, maybe 2 out of 100 discs, so far this lot have had an 80% failure rate(burnt 10 and 8 were coasters), at least I know now its not software OR hardware problems, in fact ive just burnt one of my OLD Ritek disc's at 12x speed with no problems, and thats whilst browsing!!!
just a "bad batch"...RMA and hope for a "good batch", it happens to ALL of us sooner or later, who knows how many RMA's i've had to open up in my years of burning...hehe
