I dl God of War COnfusion. I extracted the rar files and didnt get an ISO image. How do I get the ISO image. I've searched AD and google. Please help. thank you

I read your guide and did exactly what you said. When I extracted the rar files. Half were recognized raricons and half were unknown icons. Does this mean I have to open and extract each unknown fileicon individually before it gives the ISO? Why didn't it recognize all the files when I extracted the first one?

When I extracted the first rar file it only extracted the first 30 files in the folder and left the rest as "unknown icons". So I just went back and opened the unknown icons with WinRAR. I'm still waiting for it to finish. I thought I was finished the first time since it took about 4 hrs to extract... I guess not. Is 8 total hrs to extract a 3 GB file too long?

it should only take WinRAR a few minutes to extract a game's
rar files to an ISO from the first rar file (like game.001).
If it took that long to extract, there is something really wrong.

How much memory do you have and how fast is your processor? I tried extracting an image on a 400 mhz computer and WinRAR said something like 20 hours remaining.

Dunno I downloaded Dragon Quest VIII and it took about 10 to 15 mins to extract. What is the extension of the unknown file type?

although my computer is on it's last leg right now.
i only have like a 2.53GHz processor in mine. I do have
768MB of ram though and that helps and 300GB of HDD space.
But even with a slower computer i can not see it taking more
than the 10-15 minutes that Tokijin said.
If it took 20hrs i would not bother even downloading any games.

I downloaded at 170kb/s I've also got 512 RAM and 120 GB external HD. If I put the WinRAR application on my external harddrive will this speed the process? The unknown icons were something like r30-r62 and a .sfv. I choose the first icon and "extract here" like the guide said. Half my files look extracted since they have the winRAR icon for R1-R29. When I get home I'll post everything in my folder.

they may just be redudndant files. Did it give you an ISO at all
after extracting the first 29 files?

It looks like there is an incomplete iso (1.7 GB) that has a WinRAR icon. I deleted the semi-extracted folder and am going to try and do it again. This time I'm going to extract it from my desktop instead of my external F drive. Something must be wrong with my USB conncetion cause it's taking 50 mins to copy from my F drive to desktop. My CPU is kind of old 8yrs or so. Is there a way to upgrade my USB ports to send info faster?

WinRAR associates itself with .ISO files (because it can read them) so your .ISO will have a WinRAR icon.

Could just be the end of the line for your CPU. Slow performance like that could be from Malware. I'd go to http://www.download.com and pick up Ad-aware, Spybot S&D, and Spyware doctor, and clean out my computer. You may also want to pick up Microsoft Anti-Spy, which is on http://www.mircosoft.com All those products are free and work well.

I extracted the files this time from my desktop. It worked only took about 20 mins. I got the full ISO about 3.4GB. Game works for now. Does the GOW confusion proper need a patch? Will it freeze up after level 4 or something like the others I've read about?
Anyone know why it took so long to extract the files from my external harddrive and not my desktop? Is there a high-speed USB port upgrade?
Do you still think it's a spyware/virus problem?

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Winrar is for compressed files to get the ISO, not ISO files
Once you get an ISO it will not have a WinRAR icon anymore
mine all have the standard DVD Decrypter style DVD icon.
I have a friend who finished the God Of War game with that
version of the game, so i would say if you put it on good media
you will be just fine.

after extracting an iso with WinRAR,can leave the iso with the WinRAR "icon",if and only if the option in settings "to associate WinRAR with iso extensions" is ticked,if this box is checked it can get confusing
