need to knoe if i need to turn off css vdvfree and dvd43 to install any dvd and clone dvd i am confused can any help.

Hi there jgoethe & welcome to afterdawn. There are a lot of people recommend uninstalling DVD43 if you want to use AnyDVD, as there can be conflicts. AnyDVD is a far superior & stable piece of software, coupled with CloneDvd2 make a VERY hard to beat combination. There are not many films that cannot be copied with it, combined with regular updates, esp with AnyDVD make a good duo.
I would uninstall both css dvdfree & DVD43 & see how it goes.

pulsar thanks a million i am going to uninstall DVD43 andcss free then try any dvd and dvd clone. i will try and then buy but i don't need cd clone syl soft has a package fpo all but i only need the two thank for your advcie.

Agree w/ Pulsar, AnyDVD with other programs like it will cause conflicts.
Can't beat AnyDVD, with free updates.
New version 5.5 just released.......

You don't need to buy CloneCD if you don't want to. I didn't as I am not burning CD backups (I must be gettin old, seeing as I don't rock out anymore).
AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 are excellent programs.
You also might want to consider DVDFab (breaks encryptions and rips to hard drive) DVDShrink (compresses movies to DVD5 discs) and DVDDecrypter (which also rips to HD and burns to new blank DVD media). All Free.
Lot's of options out there. There are guides for all of these in my signature.

You don't need CloneCD, if you are worried about protection on CD's AnyDVD will break that protection to and you can then just burn your CD with Nero, WMP or whatever program you use.

pulsar i am really confused i just went into afterdawn clone dvd 2 to download and try.it said taht i need to also download deceyper and dvdshrink do i also need any dvd i also have 1click but i am no impressed with it

Where does it say that you need decryptor & shrink?
ClonedDvd2 & AnyDVD are all you will really need at the moment.
Decrypter is a prog that can read tricky discs, as well as burn them. It does not compresss the film though.
That is where shrink comes in. The 2 progs work hand in hand. Shrink will also work with Nero. This is because shrink does not burn, only shrink!
I guess you have read someone saying that you need decrypter & shrink, this is 'cos they are free!
Just stick to CloneDvd2 & AnyDVD, there are very few films that you will not be able to back up.

Yes. 1click will work with AnyDVD. 1click does what shrink does and burns like decrypter but by itself has no decryption software within it. Any DVD with any compression program like Shrink,Nero,or 1click wil work just fine.

Just have AnyDVD running in the background and it will remove the encryption of the DVD you want to back up. Then you can use 1Click or CloneDVD or decrypter or shrink or a combination of the above.
Use the guides by bbmayo and you will be able to get it done easily.

anydvd and dvd 43 dont go together. i tried this about a year ago and my pc wouldnt even recognize when i put in a disc. dvd 43 had to go. life has been great ever since.

I HAVE DOWNLOADED AnyDVD AND CLONE DVD2 I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO PRINT THE MANUEL BUT CAN NOT I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO ACCESS AT ALL. PLEASE SOME ONE HELP ME AGAIN. ALL I GOT WAS SOMETHING IN NOTEBOOK WE I WENT TO THE HELP FILE

I have read all ya'lls threads which are great
I have been usuing Shrink and cloner2
Question
I have not been able to back up my "stealth" movie
It has sony protection?
I tried DVD43 in the back ground; tried decrypter
I am puzzled
should I gey ANY DVD plus clone DVD 2
