can i just ask, why are you converting them to iso format, you say they are movie files that you've downloaded off the net, well i normally download movies off the net too, but if i want to put them on DVD i normally encode them to mpeg2, author them and then burn them onto DVD.
Thats why im a little puzzled as to why you would do that.
Maybe it is a valid alterntive to what i normally do, but it just strikes as something strange...

Any movies I download in AVI form I just burn using NeroVision Express3 without having to convert. Many threads I have read say to convert but why?

i agree if its not already an iso i wouldnt convert to iso. just use nve3 to convert to dvd. beware of the corrupted files, ive ran accross 3 of these in the last week. all the ones ive seen so far are the first file in the WinRAR is bad.

Good to find some one who agrees. All of my downloaded movies are burnt using NVE3, just drag em over and burn.

@fordave, a couple of times in this thread you have mentioned CDs I hope you mean DVD, it must be a large file if it wont fit onto a DVD5/

Please dont mention the words CD... they are DVD discs...saves confusion. A normal DVD5 holds around 4.7g so I do not see how your 700meg file wont fit onto a DVD

your first post said you downloaded movies from the net. Most of these movies are in AVI format, that being the case they can be burnt to a DVD quite easily using Nero Vision Express3. All you do is open NVE3, select make DVD and then drag the file(movie) into NVE3 window and keep clicking NEXT until you reach burn NVE3 will convert, transcode, this will take a while and then BURN. Dont do anything else during this process. This may be considered shouting but DO NOT TRY TO CONVERT FILES IF YOU ARE USING NVE3

when was the last time you updated Nero, if you do not have NVE3 then you cant do it this way.Go to Nero.com, click on Nero 6 update Nero Reloaded and download Package 2 which contains NVE3

He says the file is a .bin which is an image file... Why not just use a program to burn this image file to a dvd?
Thats what I'd do if I downloaded a .bin file since they're ready to be burnt already.

I didn't see where anyone told him to just burn the image file... Just where everyone was argueing about not having to convert the videos and whatnot.
Anyway... was just trying to lend a hand.
@forddave Search on "how to burn a .bin file"

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_applications/c... I know you have tried everything so try the above link, it will download Copy to dvd, then download DivxToDVD. Make a folder on your HD, I call mine VIDEO_TS.IFO make this Destination File(this is where Divx willsend your files) check te Burn with Copy to DVD in the DivxToDVD prog and hopefully it will work. It appears you may have an OEM version of Nero.

I think your problem started when you meedlesly converted the files, if they were left as AVI or MPEG all the aforementioned solutions would have worked. Have you thought of downloading the movie again and starting afresh??? Why not download just 1 and see how you go WITHOUT converting it

Personaly I stay from anything that has to be unzipped, I've struck too many viruses, you could try Limewire
