you should not have all those files unless you did the
ISO & MDS with DVD Decrypter, then took the ISO and extracted
the files from it to the same folder.
You should have either the files, or the MDS & ISO
but with DVD Decrypter you burn the MDS file.
also SLES is PAL format which i hope is what you wanted.

Get rid of the Imation. Get some better media. Load the mds file into DVD Decrypter and burn it.
1. Q. How do I burn PS2 games?
A. Use DVD Decrypter. Guide: http://www.angelfire.com/games6/easytutorial/dvddec/dvddec.html Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R.
2. Q. Does the type of media I use matter?
A. YES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/3/240341 If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, etc.

I've had crap results on phillips sony and maxell before - someone i went to uni with recommended imation as one of the better ones which is why I use those, never had a problem up untill today just done call of duty as well and has the same problem so reckoning its a dodgy bunch of disks as a friend did a 1:1 of that and it was fine

Doesn't matter Imation is horrible. Try something better or continue to live with backups that don't boot. The choice is yours.

sorry guys - I tried on Ritek too and still sticking at the same point. I get the same result if I do a 1:1 copy or if I use ISO buster and then copy them in that order into Nero. Cant see any dummy files that I need to replace. Anyone give me a clue? Much appreciated

Set the read speed to 1x in DVD Decrypter. Go to Tools-->Settings-->Device--> check set read speed and set it to 1x. Then click Decrypt. It'll take about an hour to finish. Then burn at 2x or 4x as normal, That should do it.

Tokijin,so read speed matters as well for succesfull burns? 1x is ideal then or should it be the same as the write speed you use?

Yes especially if you have an older burner. I always set the read speed to 1x when ripping originals to my HD. I am using a two year old Sony external burner. I haven't had any issues since I started doing it this way. The read speed and write don't need to match. Try slowing it down to 1x to see if that helps.

Maybe your burner doesn't burn at 1x. Try updating your firmware. Have you had any problems like this in the past?

Well google your make and model of burner do find the firmware. Just make sure you follow the directions EXACTLY. If you have any doubts at all, don't do it.

Make sure you match your burner exactly and follow the directions. There isn't much I can do. Just use your best judgement. A bad flash can ruin your drive. Look at the directions, and if you're comfortable with them, go ahead. Sorry I know this isn't much help. As I said if you have any doubts, don't worry about it. Good Luck.

but i gave you the link and everything i know,
i think it's one of the bottom 2
since my current firmware is G7H9, my guess is that it's either G7Z9 or G7M9
But i don't know what the diff is between them, what would you pick?
the pics of the bottom 2 are the same,so i don't know what to choose...

I can't tell you that. It's your burner. I don't want to be responsible for destroying your burner. Use your instincts.
