okay, so I got couragious and decided to softmod the xbox. I followed the instructions for splinter cell softmod. I am unsure of my xbox version but I got it the first week or two that it came out. I was able to get into the new dashboard that is temporarily loaded to allow the soft mod. When I tried to select softmod I got an error message with no further details or error number. When I then tried to restart the xbox, I now get a message that states " your xbox requires service.please call xbox customer support". I have read numerous posts regarding this and all state that there should be a number on the top left hand corner indicating the error number, however I have no such number displyed. I did backup the c: onto my usb drive via the option on the temp dashboard. So now I'm totally stuck. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!

If you can still use a boot disc, use it to reload the dash and restore backup. If not you need to get a modchip to fix it.
