burned psx games don´t start

I use to play psx games on my ps2, but a few games just stop when the Playstation logo appears, and the logo remains there until I reset the console or turn it off, simply doesn´t boot it at all.
Does somebody know where this problem come from?

Do you have some method of booting PSX backups like a modchip or Breaker Pro? You need to make sure you burn them correctly. I recommend using Alcohol 120%. Follow these directions: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/236278

I know this was probably addressed by now, but figured I would contribute. I had the same problem. It seems to be a case of the DREs. All I did to fix it was clean my laser lens.

Sorry, but i´m a green one about these matters!
What does DRE mean?
And with a few games, like "Arc the lad 3" that is a multiple disc game,the first disc boots and blocks after a few minutes, I change with the 2nd disc, the game asks for the 1st,I do it "et voilá", the game goes on again. And when happens the same with the 2nd disc I do the same and it works.
Why this happens?
Don´t know if there´s a problem with the burned game, the console or the modchip!!

I'm not really sure I understand what you're saying. Do you mean you are stuck when it asks you to insert disc 2? Or do you just mean that it freezes while you're playing disc one? I have Arc the Lad III on CD-R. Does your modchip support PSX multi disc games? I have a Matrix Infinity and it handles them fine.

the game freezes (stop sound, image), and I change the disc without the game ask for it, then the game asks for the disc I was using first, I change again and the game starts from the point I was stucked before, but this time working well, until the next stucking. And another thing: the loadings are too long, sometimes 1 or 2 minutes.

I use a V6 ps2 (don`t know the name of the chip, I bought the ps2 with it instaled 4 years ago, runs psx games and dvd video with 2 taps on reset button, and I think deactivates it with 3 taps.

for ps2 games I use a V12 with a Swap Magic

How do you burn your PSX games. I burn mine with Alcohol 120%. I burn at 4x. Follow this guide.

14. Q. How do I burn PSX games?
A. Use Alcohol 120%. Open Alcohol 120%. Insert the disk you wish to create the image from in your CD-ROM drive. Click image making wizard. Set the read speed to 1x, check ignore read errors, fast skip error blocks, set the write Method to DAO/SAO, select your recorder, set the write speed to 4x, and set the datatype to PSX. Click next. Once the image is created, right click it and go to image burning wizard. Set the write speed to 4x, the write method to DAO/SAO, the data type to PSX, and select your recorder, click next.
