When you walk on the street, walk so slowly that people will catch you up easily. When they are going past you, adjust your speed so that you walk the same pace as he/she who is passing you by is walking. Watch their reactions when they realise that you're walking the same pace as they are. I live in Finland, and I do this every time I get bored. I've tried this in our capital Helsinki, and so far nobody hasn't said anything to me. They just struggle and try to walk slower or faster. To spice things up you can adjust your speed as your "victim" changes the pace.
I don't recommend this in u.s. or some aggressive countries, you'll probably get killed for doing this or tortured or something like that.

That is just weird, i do it too! So freaky...i must find a better past-time instead of intimidating people...
My reason for doing it is that some people think they can walk faster and then they slow down once they get in front of you. Boils my blood.
It's a pet peeve of mine so i merely reciprocate...

try farting on a crowded bus or subway.thats always good for a laugh.especially the silent farts.then nobody can pin it to you.
i let one go in a doctors office.she had walked out for a sec.then it came out of nowhere(caught me by surprise).then i could hear her coming back down the hall.needless to say,i was fanning like a madman.i was the only one in the room so she would know it was me.she got stopped right outside the door by one of her interns asking a question so that bought me a little time to clear the air.but there was a little smell still lingering when she came thru the door.she proceeded to check out my eyes while i was trying not to start busting out laughing.i held my breath and thought of anything to take my mind off it.if she would have made a comment like "whats that smell", i swear i would have died laughing.

well here in america there are hot spots for violence.but i guess that goes for nost countries.except maybe in france or canada.i never heard of the french mafia or canadian cartel.they wouldnt put much fear into people if there were gangs like that.
americans like to dramatize and sensationalize everything.you know, make movies about everything.so the violence gets overhyped.i think alot of people get mislead by this kind of hollywood flair for making heros out of criminals.its really quite boring on a day to day basis in most of america.
actually i think those people in finland are scary.they always follow you when you walk down the street.adjusting their walking speed to yours.as if they are stalking you or something.i fear for my life.something has to be done about those people...:o!

At least we don't break wind at the doctors office and then try to fan it all over the place :D
And about murder rates:
In the whole u.s. 55 people per million is murdered every year. In Finland the same figure is 3,7 people per million. Do you live in D.C. by any chance, sui-cyco? There the same figure is 458 people per million. When there's more population, there's also more violence.
Here's some statistics, don't see France or Canada on the list though :p
Quote: TEN SAFEST COUNTRIES FOR MURDER, LATE-1990s
COUNTRY PER MILLION
(1) Slovenia 0.7
(2) Austria 0.9
(3) Sweden 1.8
(4) Switzerland 2.3
(5) Israel 2.3
(6) Hong Kong 2.4
(7) Norway 2.5
(8) Ireland 2.8
(9) Finland 3.7
(10) Singapore 4.3
And yeah, I can't imagine that I would be intimidated by a french mob. I would just laugh when they try to scare me in french :D Same goes for sweden. You can't say anything scary in swedish, well end up with that laughter again.

well we have alot of french and canadian people to the north of us,so they are usually the first people we think of when we think of harmless people.
and D.C. has always been a bad place to live.its the nations capitol, how ironic.its nicknamed "the murder capitol of the world".just one of the hot spots i was referring to.
and where in the hell is slovenia?did you make that country up? i guess it would be hard to have a violent rep when nobody has ever heard of them.

i know all about slovenia.i vacationed there once.it is a small tropical country in the middle of europe.their major export is sheep and their major import is exotic hookers(not alot of women there and with the export of sheep..well.. you know).its a very peaceful nation that is well known around the world.its also said to be the place where dorothy landed at in the wizard of oz.hence the naming of their country's army as "the lollipop guild".
you see i know all about geography/history and all that stuff.

It's kind of strange but some guy pulled the walking trick on me yesterday. I thought it was kind of unusual for someone to be exersising dressed as nicely as he was, but I have seen some strange sights in this neighborhood, so I just figured that maybe he was trying to impress his lady friend, who was dressed quite a bit more casually, walking there beside him. Well, as they caught back up to me again, I played it cool, because I was on to this guy. He had obviously seen this thread on his little Palm Pilot dealie he was carrying and was trying to give me the business. He started to say something to me, but I proceeded to let him know that he was soo... busted.. I just smiled at him, with a know-it-all smirk, and say "Afterdawn, right?". Then he winks at me and says "No man, this is my sister Dawn, but she could be after you." Dawn just looked at me and smiled. Boy, did I feel stupid! So long story made short, the guy was going to set me up on a date with his sister, but he was very insistent that I make a donation to the Hurricane Wilma relief fund that he just happened to be collecting for. Now I was really feeling kind of bad, as I had judged this dude to be a wise guy and it turns out this nice fellow is a real humanitarian. I guess I got what I deserved though. I went home and made out a nice check for the cause, 'cause Dawn there was pretty darn cute. But it turns out that I was a little too late because I arrived back there just in time to see him and his sister hop into a police car, undoubtably they were being given a ride to a nicer neighborhood to do some more collecting. Once again I learned the hard way. Never judge others because you just never really know.
