I am using Alcohol 120 ver 1.9.5 To copy my PS2 games for my son. My problem is I cannot go over Gb whenever I copy a disc. I get a "read/write error". How can I overcome this problem?
Why don't you trust Nero? I have done at least 20 copies with no errors (except for one game I had to rebuild) and with ease. I just read at maximum speed and write at 2.4x and thats all I modify. Specifically, is it all games that won't go over a GB writing or just one game, because if one game,it might just be that the game is dusty or scratched.
is your system running on FAT32 by any chance.
that file system on your PC would cause those type of errors
it has a 2MB file limit and a lot of people have had problems
until they converted it to NTFS
I have a problem when backing up up with Game Jack 4 that does not let me back up the larger PSX 2 DVD format games. I have the NTFS operating type system and have noticed that when using DVD Decrypter that this sort of system will not store any files larger than 4 GIG. I know that everyone is going to say why the hell are you using Game Jack when DVD Decrypter will do the job. Well yes it does but every time I back up the larger games with Decrypter i.e ones larger than 4 GIG, they lock up and the sound becomes distorted. I have a Messiah Chip modded in my PS 2 and this has always been a reliable investment. I am a 50 year old game freak and want to protect my investment by playing my back up discs and keep my originals in good nick. Please can anyone offer any solutions to either of my problems.
wish i could be of more help. But i use DVD Decrypter for all
my back ups and have for years an have never had an
error due to the game size. So i am not sure what could be causing that. DVD Decrypter will do dual layer games which are far
bigger than 4GB, so it is very capable of handling large
file sizes. That is why i was thinking the problem may lay with the PC rather than the burning software, possible even the firmware for the burner could need updating.
