Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R using DVD Decrypter. Make sure you used the correct DNA for the NTSC version: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 (SLUS_211.05)
(Size = 148,528 bytes)
Disc ID = XX XX 03 30 9C Use good media like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Maxell, TDK, Sony, or Phillips. Here's a guide for DVD Decrypter: http://home.earthlink.net/~moderator/id3.html Here's a tutorial for patching: http://www.ps2nfo.com/on-line.html

That should be fine. Try changing burn speeds. Burn at 1x, then 2x, and 8x, if all else fails.

Your burner may not burn above 4x. The simple answer is Swap Magic 2.0 sucks. SM 3.6 is much better and doesn't require the use of all the loaders. I can't garuntee this will work online with Swap Magic 3.6. The question you need to ask yourself is if it's worth spending $20 to be able to play one game online. That's up to you. I'd say if you don't have problems with any other games with SM 2.0, just cut your losses and enjoy the ones that work. One other option is to update your burners firmware, which may allow you to burn above 4x.

I'm not sure, no info in it on forums. Swap Magic 3.6 may not resolve this issue, but there's certainly a much better chance of it working than there is with 2.0. If you have the $20, it's certainly worth a purchase. Worst case scenario you could say goodbye to Zone loader, DVD loader, CD loader, and cogswap loader forever. If you can spare the $20, you won't regret it.

No problem. Even if it doesn't solve your immediate problems, at least the days of swapping 3 times to play a game will be behind you.

Sweet Tokijin!! That's awesome. Having a mod chip is the best. Lemme know how it goes once you get it back. I was thinking of upgrading my current modchip too.

For Ghost Recon 2 I just did the same as usual DVD Decrypter straight burn method with WinDip DNA$ patch and my backup works great both off and online.

Computer Specs:
AMD Athlon64 3700+ (oc'ed to 2.5Ghz)
2gb OCZ premier RAM
ASUS A8R-MVP motherboard
two ATi X1600 Pro 512mb each running in Crossfire
Thermaltake Silent Purepower 500W PSU
LG DVD +/-RW drive 4120
ACER 19" LCD 1916B
On-Board 5.1 w/ Logitech X530 speaker system

hehe, I'd have trouble sleeping too if I knew that in a few days I'd have a PS2 in my hands with a Matrix Infinity in it!!

As for my chip, I'm not exactly sure. It sounds stupid I know, but way back when, when the chip was installed I had no knowledge of any ps2 backup info or anything. I just gave it to the guy at the store and said "mod it so I can play with direct booting".

But from what I was told after doing some research, I'm using an old school Magic3 direct-boot chip. I was looking into the Matrix Infinity as well and have been thinking of an upgrade for sometime. I'm just a little hesitant seeing as how my current chip has never caused any problems, and why mess up a good thing right?

Exactly. No point in upgrading if it works fine. I originally ordered a DMS 4 Pro, but it was having a devil of a time with my v.4 motherboard, causing a random black screen. The installer contacted me, and the next best thing was the Matrix Infinity. They do the same thing. It works great and no black screen. Apparently the Matrix chip is a lot smooter install with older motherboards than a DMS chip.
