I'm using a Matshita DVD-RAM SW9585 RW+/- (PC) drive and nerovision express 2SE.
The problem I'm getting is that every time it goes to burn the file it immediately spits the dvd back out and says that the burn failed. I've even tried it at 1X to make sure I wasnt trying to burn it too fast but still nothing. I'm a complete noob when it comes to DVDs so please; be gentle ;)

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks
sharon

omegagirl,
Welcome to the forum. Below are the errors:

1.Nero API version: 6.0.0.13
Using interface version: 6.0.0.10

Please update Nero as you are quite a few versions behind

2. Recorder: <MATSHITA DVD-RAM SW-9585>Version: B100

You are 2 updates behind in firmware. Site below can help you w/ update

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=4&manufactor=18

3.Disc Manufacturer: ME 153 -
Disc Application Code: 64, Disc Physical Code: 193

Those are generic DVD's that have performed badly. Try using Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Ritek or Maxell

okay, I'm updating Nero but your gonna have to help me out with the firmware. Do I run each update in sequence or just the latest one and how do I tell which is the latest one when they just give a list?

omegagirl ,
To tell you the truth I am not really sure if you want the B103 or the B203. Where did you buy the unit from. I want to make sure that you get the correct one so you might need to contact them. You will in the meantime get better blank media. Let me see if one of the other members here can help

omegagirl,
I pm'd 2 of the better heads here at AD, Arniebear and Creaky so maybe they can assist better as I do not want to advise you incorrectly. The slash after B103 has me a little confused

I bought the drive from Aria who had it listed simply as a panasonic SW9585. Should I email them and ask which they think I should use?
Thanks for the help btw :)

as i just mentioned to Car.Mike - i had this dilemma on another thread earlier today, the poster had B100 also, the choices for this drive from here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2030 are "MATSHITA DVD-RAM SW-9585 - B101 / P101 / Nec OEM P102 " - so i recommended B101 to be safe....
