I'm trying to play a ps1(NTSC) game on a modded ps2 machine. The game had trouble starting up when I didn't mod the ps2(PAL) so I got it modded, after I got it modded, it now doesn't play the ps1 games at ALL!

What is the problem here? I seriously need help. I tried burning a copy of the ps1 game onto a SONY CD-R, but that didn't work either. The games that I am trying to play are Vagrant Story and FFVII.

Try holding Power button for 3 secs and release then hold Power button again for 3 secs. Works for me.

I hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn it on....and I hold power button for 3 seconds to turn it off again? Huh?

what kind of mod do you have, a chip?
some chips have different boot modes that you have to
use for PS1 games

Ok, short of opening the bugger up, how do i know what modchip it is, I got it done at a shop, I'm a computer engineer, so don't spare me the details. I can handle it :P

BTW, the PS2 is the old bulky one instead of the nice slim gen2.
