IM AT LOSS, IVE TRIED ALMOST EVERY WAY THAT I HAVE READ IN ALL THE FOROM IN HERE AND NOTHING IS WORKING FOR ME. I HAVE WASTED PROB 20 DVD-R DISCS. I HAVE SWAP MAGIC 3.6, I LOAD THE SWAP DISC WAIT FOR THE LOAD PROGRAM SCREEN AND SWAP DISCS ON MOST DISCS IT IS A BLANK BLACK SCREEN OR IT SAYS IT IN NOT A VALID PS2 GAME, OR IT LOADS TO THE PART WHERE IT SAY DONT HAVE A MEMORY CARD PRESS (X) TO START ANYWAY, I PRESS X NOTHING HAPPENS, BACK TO THE BLACK SCREEN.IF ANY ONE CAN HELP ON THE CORRECT WAY TO BURN A PS2 GAME IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. I HAVE THE SLIM LINE V12 70001 NTSC VERSION IF YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT.

What games have you tried? What brand of DVD disks are you using? Are they DVD+R or DVD-R? What program are you using to copy the games and what program are you using to burn the games? What speed? etc...

1st don't post in all CAPS it's against the rules...
What type of Mod other than Swapmagic do you have for your system? Since you have a slim ps2 with a fliptop already built in are you using a replacement Fliptop or you using slim tools?
If you aren't using anything other than the swapmagic discs it isn't going to work.. Your system is still going to know that the lid is open when you swap therefore it won't load the backups correctly...
So you need a replacement fliptop or Slim Tools. These tools block the sensors so the fliptop thinks it is always closed...

i have tried fugitive, madagascar, fifa, guilty gear, and several others. I have used memorex, maxel, and verbatim DVD-R discs. tyo copy the games i have tried DVD Decrypter and it copies to the hard drive but from there is where i believe i am doing something wrong. i have used cdrwin, alchohol 120 and iso buster i have also tried burning with Nero, i use the lowest speed possible. i have had some luck with the ps2 compact disc versions, i have got ico, godai, and maxis all to work with the swap magic, but when it comes to the dvd rom versions ive had no luck at all, it seems the cd version is .bin and .cue files and are a bit easier to work with, and the dvd rom versions are iso file and that must be my problem i must not have the correct method for burning them and believe me i have tried alot of ways. i burn the cd rom version on maxel cd-r discs with some luck on those, and the dvd rom version on DVD-R discs with no luck at all. i am using the replacement fliptop lid for swap magic.

ok i have done everything it said to do in the link that you provided for me, but in the cddvdgen when you get to the part where it says REC i click it and it and a small screen pops up saying TO SHORT LOCATION (LESS THAN 600000 SECTORS) i click ok and it wont do anything else from there, i have tried this method with MADAGASCAR, AND MUSTANG. So then i tried the method of extrating file with DVD Decrypter then running iso buster, opening Nero and still following all the instuction provided in the link, when i put the file in Nero it is verry small not even taking up 1/8 of the dvd, is that normal for them to be so small, well anyway it didnt work says it is not a valid ps2 game, on one of the games i tried it had a dummy file in it, i replaced it with the text file as it said to and still no luck getting it to play, can i put dvd rom games on a cd-r disc or does it have to be a DVD-R disc, why i am asking it seem to take up the whole cd-r when your looking at it through Nero and about 1/8 of the DVD-R when looking at throug Nero, I am still at a loss, i really like the detailed instruction in the link but i just cant get them to work correctly. please help this is driving me insane??????? thanks......

the game mustang also had a file named MDS along with the ISO file, do i need to do something with it as well???????

How big are the files you're trying to burn? They shouldn't need rebuilt unless they're over 4.38GB's to work with Swap Magic. Even then not all games do. Don't worry about rebuilding, try a straight burn with DVD Decrypter. Load the mds file, not the iso.

I DID AS YOU SAID AND IT Says it is not a valide ps2 game are you suppose to burn in mode 2 because DVD Decrypter burns in mode 1??????????

With CD's it's mode 2, for DVD's and correct if I'm wrong, I'm not sure it matters. Looking at DVD Decrypter, I'm not sure you can even change the mode. Furthermore when I look at the DVD's I've burned in Alcohol 120% device manager for mode it says DVD, leading me to believe you can't change the mode for DVD's anyway. You may want to update your burners firmware. What kind of DVD burner are you using?

I am using Nero for most everything i have version 6 ultra edition. i tell ya these ps2 games are tricky. but im happy to say i finally got fifa 2006 to work using a DVD+R, Do you know the correct way to burn a PAL game. i have read so many different ways and tried several but no luck, some people say patch with ps2 patcher others say use cddvdgen well none of those work for me. im new to all this, do i need something more than the swap magic 3.6 with the replacement lip (witch i have) seem to oly have problems with dvd rom based games????????????????????????

there is no difference in how you burn PAL games.
Do them the same as NTSC. Swap Magic 3.6 will play them
if the screen looks funny or is in black&white then try
setting the screen mode on swap magic to PAL
i prefer DVD Decrypter over Nero myself. I have both and
only use Nero when i had to rebuild a game so it will work with
Swap Magic when i used it.

madagascar is cd based it works just fine i use alchol 120 for cd based games it nevers fails google it for a 30 day trial (there are plenty of ways right the free trial cough cough)
me personal would rebuild it to dvd it plays alot better i love that game wish we had that sort of a game when i was a kid extrat with iso buster choose last chocie on Nero there you go
gulty gear and fifa o6 both need rebuilding
mustange dont bother its crap
never heard of the other

First off hi, secondly i am gonna be buying a dvd burner in a couple of days and would really like to burn backups of my games. And what i wanted to know is what i need to burn them. I'm getting a sony DVD-RW dl drive i downloaded DVD Decrypter and i have Nero ! is there anything else i need to burn them be cause i'm new when it comes to burn dvd's. thanks in adavance for any help.

You need some type of mod to play backups, like Swap Magic or a modchip.
